Body lift?

Damn nice car.

Ok I removed all body bolts from one side and loosend the others. It will not lift off the chassis at all. Lifter the tire off ground when trying to lift body. Six bolts on each side correct??

Are you sure you're jacking it on the body and not the frame? It should move if the bolts on the other side are loose.

They where pretty loos. Hade all on driver side out and jacking on the underbody. Not sure what's up. Lifted the front tire. Have to look more tomorrow

I think I used a long block of wood on the pinch seam to get the body up. But I can't remember perfectly so don't take my word for it.

Technically the body will bend where its lifted before the tire leaves the ground. Otherwise ur doing it wrong.
When we did it, we lifted at a point next to the bolt we were replacing.
Make sure the other side is pretty lose. If not, the body wont get raised.

Yeah, when I did mine I used 2 bottle Jacks spaced evenly but still close enugh to work them both at the same time. I put them securely on car ramps with blocks of wood between Jacks and body. Make sure the other side is really loose but not removed. I've done this twice. Once with 1 inch day star then aging when I went with 2 inch lift. Good luck

I don't recall how many bolts I removed on my 3 but I do remember missing one just behind the rear passenger seat. It was hard to see and not line of sight. If that's not it try googling the install directions from daystar who I believe highlights all the steps to install the body lift. Good luck

Body weighs a lot and suspension flexes. You need to keep going. Use a block of wood and make sure opposite side is loose and six bolts out on the side you are jacking up. First time I stopped too as I thought something was wrong. Then I did it again and kept going, suspension flexed out and body then started to lift. Just keep going slow. I used a 4x4 wooden post cut slightly on the end to fit the support for body next to one of the bolts and placed on the saddle of the jack. If you are going 1 1/2 or 2" just go slow and don't over jack it....

Good info. That's exactly what I did is when it started to flex out in the front tire came off the ground just a tiny bit I stopped concerned that I had missed something or something was wrong. I will give it a try again tonight when I get home. Thanks again guys

Make sure the supports are stout before poking your hands under there . When we were doing the B.L. one of the wood planks we were using to raise the body broke abit!

It's done! I jacked a little higher and it let go. Needed a longer upper radiator hose. 14.00. Body kit cost me 80.00

Sorry it was a struggle but we'll worth it. Looks great!!!. I just moved my upper radiator hose out a little bit but a longer hose is a safer option. Good job brother.
