Body lift?

I sent him a PM Thanks. My main concern is the steering shaft..

I talked to him a while back when he first join up. He told me he didn't had to modify the steering shaft, however he did mentions something about the transmission that needs to be extended or something like that, it's been a while since I talked to him, he was also wanting to go to 42' I believe he said that the h3 with the pcm tune handle decent enough for him to wanting to go to 42'. He put his own body lift together I forgot the name of he website he go his diff from, he also mentions that he wanted to do a 3 or a 4 inch body lift. In order to accommodate the bigger tires. He mainly uses his truck for advertisement for his physical therapy business so it is not a off-road built. With that said, as son as my 35"s as done I'm going to 37"s and with only a 1" body lift, and a tune.

He probably changed gears and that makes a night and day difference when you put that size tire on, I've thought about doing it if I ever get the rancho lift because I would be getting 37s along with it

What would you change gears to?? You can't go any lower with the I-5, and the V-8 gears are way to high for the I-5. I bet he never really goes anywhere on the highway with it, flat land or not.

Good to know on the steering. He Is probably talking about the trans lines to the radiator. If so im good as I already made them longer when I installed the trans cooler[emoji106][emoji106].

It wasn't a humongous difference in both the I5 and V8, but it was noticeable.

I contacted them. It's about 15hp to the wheels on the I5 depending on intake and exhaust

The best part of it is changing your shift points, so you're not stuck in a gear or constantly shifting when on the highway. Also if you switch to hard shifts it feels alot faster than it actually is.

H3 on 40's said he runs it in the highway no problem, he said that the I5 has more balls than people give it credit, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt. My truck with the rancho and 35"s no tune has no problem keeping up the 80 mph speed. Even in hill areas just got to prepare and keep momentum when going up hill and that's it if it is too crazy of a hill might drop 5-10 mile but still do good speed 60-70. This is why I am confident that when I throw in the 37"s and get it tune it should ride just like it did with 35"s, or somewhere close to them or better, plus I rarely drive the hummer pass 70, with gas prices now I go as slow and calm as possible as to enjoy the drive. If I want speed and drill I just ride the GS and cruse down the high way at 90-100 no problem Lol

Agree. I have no issues except a little sluggish on the pedal but the tune will fix that. Other than that 85 no problem with my 35's.
I will do the body lift soon, Maybe the weekend. I'm looking to se whats needed to raise the front bumper.

He did say that with 40s 4th gear is non existent and 3rd acts now as his overdrive.
Technically the diameter change from 32" to 40" puts his 3rd gear ratio at a very close spec as 4th gear with 32s!

That's EXACTLY why it works for him, no more 4th gear. Well,in his case it's like losing 1st gear.

Yeah 37"s seem like the cut off for the front differential. My 35"s can't wear out fast enough.

We at a stand still...Uggggg body bolt snapped when removing. Now need to extract Bolt.. old bolts went back in without lift. I will drive to work and remove old one tomorrow.....Pifft!!!

Hey yall its me h3 on40s. It's been 2 years on my 40 and I still love it. Its no race car but I have a 500hp pontiac in the garage. I drove to the mountains again this winter. She survived but did struggle on a few roads. Hit me up with any questions
