New decal

Made this last week. I know that the slogan is old news but I did make the H3 front view portion of the decal. Have had a lot of thumbs up from other drivers.

Noticed a drop in gas mileage so I figured it was time to replace the spark plugs, 115k on the original. Also removed the heat shield on the exhaust manifold since it was rattling like crazy. I do have to look into manifold/header options because I'm getting an exhaust smell from that area and a tapping on accel.

:nope 4speedFLUNK; you should have paid more attention in English class. I will make this easy for you. If you can read and understand ( which I am a little apprehensive about that already), you will see the phrase "studY of the properties"..... NOT studIES of the properties..... in the definition below. AERODYNAMICS is a singular noun. Repeat after me, SINGULAR noun. So if , let's say, you enjoy Physics; would you say "Physics are my favorite class this semester?" Please think before you answer out loud ( in case someone is standing nearby ).
Standing in your shoes, Grammar is Overrated I guess. Class dismissed:giggle:

aer·o·dy·nam·icsˌerōˌdīˈnamiks/
noun

  • the study of the properties of moving air, and especially of the interaction between the air and solid bodies moving through it.

Went camping in the George Washington National Forest with my brother in law (Andrew) and his well built JK.

It was good fun and food, but a good time to learn as well. There has been little rain in this part of Virginia recently, so the trails were dry.

There is a good hill climb that is made of slippery shale rock that funnels into a narrow neck at the top. The neck is heavily grooved and is a good test of articulation. My first track to the right failed and I slid into the grooves. I backed up locked the rear axle and scooted right up. Andrew was riding shotgun and was so impressed with the lockers and the H3 he is thinking about them for his JK.

There are a number of other sports like this on the trails with 10~20" steps that are filled with shale or mud. Instead of going around them I was glad of the shackles I bought from Schwartzy and the lockers.

A good time and no breakage!

Maintenance exercise.

New plugs (OEM AC Delco)
Air filter
Pulled a P0106 code. Replaced MAP sensor
Replaced MAF sensor
Replaced transfer case speed sensor
Replaced serpentine belt
Changed Oil / filter - Mobil 1 5W-30, PF61E
Changed transfer case fluid (GM OEM Recommended fluid)
Replaced TB with Supermodulation Ported / Polished TB
Changed differential oil (front & rear) Royal Purple 75W90

H3 has a 153,000 miles and runs great!

Next on the list is to recover the cloth seats in leather. Got a kit from LeatherSeats.com. Very high quality and craftsmanship. Looks just like the factory leather seat right down to the piping. Can't wait to get them installed.

getting some work done on the interior, and got some 1/2" birch up on the roof now. Solid as a rock. Going to sound deaden everything with sound deadener, closed cell foam, and mlv. Should be like I brand new car after i'm done.

First time working with Vinyl its not too bad just takes a long time.

I feel inadequate putting just an oil change on this list, considering what everyone else has been doing. Oh well, gotta start somewhere, I guess... :sigh:

Removed the Valvoline Conventional 5w-30 and unknown filter. Replaced with Mobil 1 5w-30 Full Synthetic and AC Delco PF61 filter. Then, proceeded to drive an hour to my father's and an hour back home. Engine seemed to have a smooth run, with no noticeable noise. Figure the Mobil 1 will clean out any of the previous oil choices the H3 has had over the last 10 years and 95,000 miles.
