I have stayed at the LaQuinta Inn the last few times and have no complaints. It's right in the middle of town and within walking distance of most of the places we go for dinner and Rusty's

Yep, it is staggering distance from Rusty's Saloon! Not like Bishop is a big town by any means.

Unless I get dragged into working OT, I should be up there Friday night. La Quinta is good and they have a nice continental breakfast on the go in the morning.

It's a 5 hour jog for me to get out there from Burbank so I'll catch everyone after they're done the mining road back in town.

What's everyone doing after Wheeler ridge? Dinner and then head home?

Colleen and I are still planning to make this trip. Work still hasn't decided if they are sending me to Montana yet, but we are going somewhere regardless. Assuming the schedule works out, our plan is to drive up to Bishop on Friday. Not too sure about Friday night. Colleen wants to see Silver Canyon in the daylight, so we might get a head start? We'll do Wheeler Ridge on Saturday and then leave for Montana or somewhere on Sunday. The only hitch will be if the Montana trip goes through but I can make it fit into this schedule.

I am planning on camping and reserved a site at Grays Meadows(near town of Independence) Friday to Sunday.
If anyone would rather sleep under the stars, fish ect... It's a great spot if you want to join.

We would like to do the pre-run. We'll plan to be up there by 1:00.

I don't think I'll need the rock rings on Friday. How about Saturday? I'd like to leave the rock rings home for this trip but not at the expense of my wheels.

Just worrying about scratches ya no. Getting ready to mount gas hedge trimmers to the brush guard.:D

I got my new GM performance exhaust installed and performance is almost back to pre 35" wheels. Next Tustin Hummer is doing a PCM tune and I have new headlights to install.

Hopefully the HID fog lights will arrive in time for the trip. They will provide 7,000 lumens of yellow light just encase of dust. :cool:

I think you need to drive behind Kurt and let him widen the trail for you. It has been a very dry year so there shouldn't be as much growth on the trail. I suspect the snowmelt pond will be nothing but a mud hole.

You will notice a radical change climbing the hills in Bishop with the catback system installed. It is amazing how much more power it will give you in the higher elevations.

We would normally love to camp but I have found arriving at a campsite late with a 1.6 year old can be rather stressful so we'll just take the easy route and La Quinta it this time. I'm trying to swing it where I can get in Thursday night but it's up in the air right now.

Been there.
My son was 3 years old before I tried camping again.
Then it was easy and he was hooked. Now we go all the time.

My little loves to camp but sometimes it's just easier not to deal with the setup in the dark. We'd probably camp if we got there during the day.

I would love to camp but gotta run it past Wifey! My son just turned 7 so he would love it! :thumbs:

We are psyched to get Bishop and wheel with everyone again!
We decided to camp and stay at
BROWN'S TOWN CAMPGROUND

and should get there Friday evening.
If anyone else wants to Camp reservations aren't needed as
they have quite a few tent camping sites available so last minute is OK
according to the Campground.
This place is located near the Golf Course at the beginning of the town of Bishop

Just reserved the Village Motel for Thursday through Sunday. I might have to pull some long hours this week but we are in.

BTW, that Village Motel is significantly less than the La Quinta. It has a kitchen (which is nice for keeping the kiddo's milk cold, etc...) and only adds 10 bucks for the dog.

Of course it might absolutely suck otherwise but hey, that's part of the adventure.
