Sounds like a fun trip, but the last time I was up that high (12,000') I was up at Brians Head Utah in March for our 25th anniversary and couldn't breathe, for the entire week. I ended up driving down to the valley, which was only 6,000' each day to catch my breath. I thought it was going to be my last. Would love to go, but don't think my heart condition will let me. Still thinking about it though..... anyone know CPR. LOL
:banghead:

The altitude can cause harm to some people. Is it really a heart problem or are you trying to over-exert yourself? I recommend taking Ginkoba for about a week prior to hitting high elevations. It will help promote red blood cells and get the oxygen into your system. Make sure to consult your doctor first.

I have not made one of the Bishop runs but have fished in the area. It is beautiful up there.

I keep hoping you will make this one. You could always extend your stay and fish.

Been so busy lately that getting time away to play has become difficult. I am planning a trout fishing trip in July up that way. I missed last year so I really need to make my fishing trip this year. It is one of the things I look forward to the most each year.

I can fully understand. I had to do a lot of juggling myself to make this run a reality.

Right now I am on the phone with some guys in Houston trying to figure out the best locations for the tower cranes for the POL project, otherwise I wouldn't be able to surf the forum. :)

Yeah, it's definitely a heart problem. I had a bad dental surgery, which caused a severe pro lapse of one of the valves. Had it repaired in 2001, but it went into A-Fib. So I have to take blood thinners. Very tempting to go though, haven't been fishing in twenty years.

I usually have two computer screens going so I can lurk and work at the same time. Conference calls are good for that also. :)

I may not make the night run, I work on Friday, and even if I get out early, a 4-5 hour drive to Bishop I wouldn't realistically make it there for 8pm. I'll leave and get in that evening and check in to the motel probably as you guys wrap up the trail :)

We had a great time last year on this run and would love to come again. Right now I'm 90% just have to buy a few more houses and I'm in :gaah: :)

Awesome! I didn't get much time to talk to you on the last run so hopefully I will this time. Don't forget that we are doing a run in your neck of the woods (Laughlin) in November.

Thanks to our friend Anthony at AAMCO in Santa Ana, my truck is ready to rock and roll! I discovered a lot of things that needed fixing after the John Bull run. Anthony found a few more once it got to the shop. Here is what I had fixed:
  • Replace steering rack (old one was leaking oil at the boots)
  • Replace tie rods
  • Replace both half shafts (boot leaking oil)
  • Replace passenger engine mount
  • Replace bent swaybar link
  • New pads on rear brakes.

I also got some new toys for the trip like a ToolPak and GoPro camera!

Gotta love Ant. Too bad he is missing this run. Need to schedule my truck going to him next week.

I will be seeing him again soon. The Monte needs some more of his TLC. Blew the thermostat bypass tube on the way home from work last night. Have to pull the timing chain cover to replace it. :gaah:

Where is everyone staying? I'm cautiously optimistic. We will probably not get up there until Friday night but it's all good.
