I thought the point of tube doors were not to have sheeting? Can this be optional only?

I think a little sheeting would be good to help keep some stuff from splashing in. I don't mind it as long as I can lean out and get a better look than what I can with the short little windows.

I think he jeeps can get away with no sheeting because there is a lip at the bottom edge of their jeeps to prevent things from rolling out and to help keep you from slipping or what ever

For us our rigs have nothing to prevent the same, so either sheeting the full length of the tube doors or the first 4-6" would be nice to keep the po-po happy(er)

Exactly, this is why Wranglers are legal to take their doors off.

Utah you can "get away" with doorless if you have mirrors. "Get away" meaning most cops leave you alone. To be 100% legal you need mirrors and some sheeting on the bottom.

I'm working on a fiberglass (and possibly Carbon Fiber? :) ) project right now for my 3 and then tube doors will be next.

Options, is part of this...I think? We are not a jeep and we know this already. I still want to try an protect my insides and be able to lean out an see where my tires are. We can't do that now w/ our doors. A half or notched door would solve this.

I think, anymore vision to help us, this is a good thin and if we can get alittle, yes alittle more crap from comin in our rigs...is a good thin too. Be able to seal the lower part of the door is a plus too. Water inside, for any reason is bad.

This is, kinda what I want or need...? Want...R+D on the fly. You asked and you will receive. Try an make us, all happy and or, an option...

Isn't there more work involved in that? Would it be strong enough to hold us while leanin out the door? I am not a fab guy, so I don't know the process. Also, what about storin them. I see most of us only usin them on a parttime bases and bein stored most of the time?

Me, I still like the tube doors idea. Alot of smart members here. I'm still interested in the idea and open to any of them.

We could probably design some racks for the Hummer if there was enough demand. There has to be a large enough demand to justify spending money developing something vehicle specific

Personally, I'd love to see some custom racks with mounting spots for our new off-road lighting

I agree, I still like the tube doors better. It's more difficult to try to make a tube door sheeted to where the door would actually seal against the door jamb to prevent water from rushing in on the deeper water crossings.

IMO it's easier to make a fiberglass half door seal out water than it is to make a tube door seal it out.

For me personally, sealing out water isn't an issue. If I know there's good chances of mud, I'd leave my full OEM doors on. If it's great weather outside and I'm going rock crawling I will slap on the tube doors.

That would be awesome for sure, but I don't have the tooling for thermoplastics. Nor does it really excite me. About the closest I could get there would be vacuum infused carbon fiber. But then you're into some good money.

I can live with that. :D

those strike force zebra doors look nice though. A couple of years ago someone was talking about doing them for the H3. I guess that fell through. :(

Bebe had some made and was looking into making them for more people. Then another member jumped in about somebody he had that could make some, so Bebe bailed. Then that other member never followed through.
