Need help with 'Reduced Power' msg when I give throttle a bit too quickly

You might do a compression test too. It's somewhat common on these engines the center cylinders burn valves. Esp #3. Mine's had low compression on #3 for a few tens of thousands of miles. The ECM keeps track of misfires and when they get high enough over a given period of time (3 seconds? 4...

Hummer H3 - Replacement Rear Frame Shackle Mount

Wow..you're right. Those are terrible. You'll probably have more metal work to do once you get the old ones cut off. I'm sure you can modify new or fab-up shackles once you get into it. Love to see the finished product.

Well...Lol! As luck would have it I need the ever allusive 434 (02207B) door check again!!

Just the spring, or is there more going on I can't see in the pic? Must be bad luck. Did GM use them in the Colorado's or another vehicle?

    Leaky Sunroof

Yep! Good call. Definitely another possible source of leaks (and headaches if the bolts rust in).

    Leaky Sunroof

I've been fighting leaks and wet carpets since I bought my rig years ago! I've had the interior/carpets out a couple times. New sun roof gasket. Tried a number of things that never seemed to work. We had a lot of rain this summer, esp in July. This fall I had an inch of water standing...

    Oil usage observations

I don't remember (and too lazy to re-read all the posts) ...did you ever do a compression test?

    Oil usage observations

Good to hear the updates. Walmart sells T6 around here, as do the Farm n Barn stores. Here's an idea...crazy as it seems. If dollars matter, do some commuting calculations: a smaller electric car would cost you very little to commute up over the mountains. You gain back (regen downhill) most of...

AC not cooling well at idle and in hot weather - want to add electronic co denser fan - 2008 H3 Alpha

There could be moisture in the system, pressure switch not working properly, weak compressor, piece of crap lodged in the screen, blend door not closing/sealing. Who knows what the previous owner, or his guru 'wonder-buddy' might have put in the AC system for refrigerant or extra oil or who...

Oil Pressure Light, Alarm on 2007 Hummer H3

Note: I once had a Ford Bronco 400M a couple decades ago that registered 4-PSI :)!! That was a hot engine at idle with the AC on ...in gear. I bought it used. At first it bugged me, but it sounded fine...ran fine. Eventually I got over it and ended up putting a lot of trouble-free miles on it...

AC not cooling well at idle and in hot weather - want to add electronic co denser fan - 2008 H3 Alpha

I completely agree. The condenser is the outside heat-exchanger for your tk's AC system. Probably years of debris and dead bugs between the fins. You might pull the radiator back, or try to split them apart a bit so you can be very thorough to clean the condenser. Preferrably from the backside...

Oil Pressure Light, Alarm on 2007 Hummer H3

How many miles on it? You should do the things listed above. Maybe it'll make a difference. But it could be that the bearings or oil pump ARE weak and it's possible the oil pressure might be low. These engines are great but there are a couple weaknesses, incl the soft aluminum bearings. If it...

    Monsoon stereo questions.

For a while, my stereo map DVD (or maybe it WAS the CD player) would run on for a LONG time after parking the vehicle ..and I wasn't noticing it. It was running the battery down. Ultimately it turned out the vehicle had 4 bad door switches (out of 5) and didn't know it. I found it by accident...

    2024 Suspension options available?

I guess if it was me I'd go with the Bilstein. Good chance they (I'm guessing) supplied the original mono-tube shocks for GM. They have a great reputation and the price is right ...from, like RockAuto.

    Speaker Replacement - HELP!

Is it the Monsoon system? That's a great system..and if it were me, I'd personally stick with an OEM (used) speaker. Esp if you're using the OEM amp. Because now you're mis-matching speakers. There's impedence which is going to be hard to match (OEM) and I personally wouldn't want to mis-load...

    Adventure?

Unless a guy is doing hard-core, steep, or low-speed crawling, a guy gets a lot of flexability on trails/woods/mud with the (non-adventure) 2.64:1 transfer case, than the real low (Adventure) 4.03:1. The factory rear locker only engages in low range too. So the non-adventure pkg has some...

    thud when accelerating

If the rest of the driveshaft is in good condition...I'd see how it goes with the Spicer. How do the trunions look on the front u-joint? Might consider replacing that. And perhaps, mark the driveshaft yoke and shaft and remove/degrease and put back together with grease. Maybe even add a zerk to...
