Yeah I know. My brother-in-law has a 2010 Duramax/quad-cab/dually....and his t-case broke one morning just trying to get out of his driveway. Got stuck in low or something. Anyway...he drove it to the dealer. Guess what it was? PLASTIC shift fork...just like the H3. BTW...you can buy a Dorman replacement plastic shift fork for your H3 on ebay for $15.00...

Don't everybody rush the guy at once.

The original one in my 2 was plastic, but surprisingly that wasn't my problem. Chain was stretched. New tcase has the metal one and my rebuilt original one now has the metal. Never knew the 2's had the plastic also. Go figure.

There's been a few write ups on it... I'd probably say its a 6 or 7 on the difficulty scale simply because the t-case has to be pulled out and split open... Others may say its easy. Some might say hard. It will probably be the most extensive project I do to my 3...

I know this is old but the day has come and by this weekend my whole drive train will be Royal Purple. 12 ATF qrts trany, 2 ATF t-case, 4 bottles of gear oil and 6 qrts for the engine. Plus engine and trans filter with a B&M drain plug kit. Picked everything for less then $170 only thing is my input seal on the left front is bad so that is going to have to be done before the drain. One thing I have notices after the lift kit is the CV's are pulled 1/4 inch out from the diff so I need to check on that also.
