Mud grapplers wear really fast, like a lot of the nittos... I've heard good things about the km2s from a couple guys in my local 4wd club. We're in the Midwest and get our fair share of snow. I'm leaning toward the mtr w/ Kevlar once my duratracs wear out in about 50k more miles.

Most of the bad reviews are from years back...I used them on last year's snow season at big bear and they perform good even on wet snowed rocks they gripped good...they perform out standing in bad Sh!t mud, I have tested them twice in each mentioned setting. As well them been wearing pretty evenly...I rote them every 4,000 miles alone with everyone change. And they aren't noisy even with the windows down...the sound is none when the windows are up and radio is on.

Sounds good to me! I guess thats the way to go then. Im trying to get all of this planned out so I can do my lift.

Also rumor has it that when the first mtrs came out the 35' and smaller were made from different materials than the 37's and up but then after couple of years they made them 35's and smaller same materials as the bigger one which make them wear more evenly and last longer and what not...like I said that was a rumor I came across while researching this tire...then only flat I got was in my driveway and that was totally on my I left a pair on pliers on the tire and drove off and so they puncture the tire, but that another story. Anyways MTRs are also lighter than most tires in this class. I also like the km2 fir looks but haven't got no experience with them.

If you can switch new set of tires every year get grapplers but if not get the KM2

Dude I love them I put about 11k plus miles on them and they still look fresh...I like them so much that as soon as this sets wears down I'm upgrading to 17 inch rims so I can run this tire in 37/8's...because they don't offer 37/8's for 16 inch rims.

I have MTrs with kevlar. They did awesome in the snow this past winter. I aired down and spent a weekend driving around town pulling vehicles out of ditches. Big ole lifted trucks were stuck all over the place and my little ole h3 got the job done. I did air down to about 18psi and there were no traction issues whatsoever. that is just my experience. oh and these tires only have about 10-20% thread left.

Km2's are really quiet, smooth, have been wearing well, look great, and will plow through anything.

Mt/r with kevlar will probably do the same

I say just go with whichever one is cheaper, they're both great tires.

Nittos look the best though, and wear the worst.

I went from 33" Swamper TrXus MT's to a set of 12.50 X 35 Good Year MTR's and love them.

Mud Four Stars
Sand Four Stars
Rocks No experience
Rainy roads Four Stars
Snow/3"-4" Four Stars
Ice Do not get out of your driveway.

Wear is outstanding............Maybe because I do a 5 tire rotation every 5K miles.

Had one flat so far and the puncture was in the worse place possible (lower sidewall).

That tire has been relegated to trail spare.

Note: According to Discount tire, these things are on back order till October.

Good news is, they seem to have gone down in price some.

I paid approx $340 per tire Dec 2012, now they are going for $290.

Plus, I think they a one of the best looking tires out there.

Performance in mud hands down nitto... The howl when on pavement is down right awesome.

KM2's are an amazing tire. Sand, mud and snow. Just as long as you have good tread. Learned that backward slide lesson. Although I don't think good tread would have helped. Amazing in rock. Ice, no bueno.

I'll probably go kevlars. I like the way they look too. They'll look good with the rancho, I saw something about needing spacers. I know this is an entirely different topic. But what exactly do you need other than the lift. I know you need to buy shocks. But what else? To be able to air down properly.

1.75 in adapters...but IMO I'd go 2 inches just to have an extra piece of mind that no matter how low i air down the tire sidewall won't rub...but I'm running 1.75 inch adapters and 06 H3 ran them for quite awhile with his Rancho lift...the brand is Motorsport, give them a call is the easiest and fastest way to order I had my adapters within the week. And they look pretty heavy duty if you ask me, and the price is right
