SoCal Event - 2N17X - March 10, 2012

Once again, it is time to tackle 2N17X in SoCal! We had a lot of fun last time but were rushed because we did Cleghorn prior. We will also be testing out the optional advanced runs on 2N17 on the loop back out.

Description: 2N17X is an challenging trail and will provide some harder challenges but still has bypasses for the more difficult areas.

When: March 10, 2012
Where: Cajon, CA

Time: 10am we will be hitting the trails. We will be meeting around 9:30 to air down and a quick safety meeting. Expect a full day of trails so bring a lunch to eat while we wheel.

Meeting Spot: There is a small parking lot by the dam on Lake Silverwood just past the entry to 2N17X. :link:

Trails: 2N17X and 2N17

This is a fun and challenging trail that is fairly short, but very worth it. We will take it to the end and loop back out on 2N17. There are several off-shoots on the way back that look entertaining. :link:

Communications: CB channel 37

Weather: Temperatures have quite a range here. I recommend bringing a warm clothing in case it becomes a long night. Bring sunscreen and lots of water.

Well on Facebook I marked Maybe, however I am leaning towards oh it is so on 2N17X! However it all depends on the Hummer, she's been a little temperamental lately. I had a short in my main/auxiliary fuel switch repaired by Hummermech, but I have to go back and find out why my ABS light keeps coming on when starting, and doesn't go off till I move forward. :banghead:

Yea, I sucked up to my older brothers and sisters once they got their license and before I got mine. What's amazing is they actually thought I liked em!

So, go ask your little sister if you can come out and play. :mock:

I tried that first hill on 2N17X, but the ledge near the top was too much for me to get over. I was dragging the UCP. Maybe if I had a Rancho lift I could have done it, but I guess we'll never know!

Clearance may be on my side for an obstacle like that but for 2N17X I sure as hell would love the long wheelbase, a V8 and a 4:1 case!

One thing you need to do is, take the steps off for it. It can be a challenging trail. If you're not up for that, more than likely I will have the passenger seat available or someone else will

We can team up with our compressors just as long as it doesn't become a habit. I will remember to bring my spare CB as well. I think having a new member on a trail adds fun for everyone. We get to look back on ourselves when we first went wheeling.
