$3,6XX.XX something like that I can get all the parts for $2,XXX.XX soooooo yeah, they also said if I got the parts they'd put it in but I don't plan on paying for anything.

You need to file a complaint with NTSB. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/index.xhtml There are a number of complaints already (search make and model then go to the bottom of the page and filter "air bags") I don't know how many complaints they have to get before they open an investigation. Also let GM know that you are aware of the large number of complaints. GM will do all they can to avoid accepting responsibility because they are trying to avoid a recall.

GM is getting in trouble for not recalling known problems in many of their vehicles. One problem in the next string of recalls are air bags. Not sur if that will effect the hummer division.

Definitely call them and see what they say. I would also use twitter/facebook to bring attention to your issue.

If none of that works then you probably want to contact a lawyer

If GM can't build an off road vehicle that doesn't blow airbags every time you hit a bump or sit on a slope they need to drop the H4 concept. Might as well drop the Z71 package also.

WTF!!! Do you have a breakdown of that bill? List on those parts isn't even $3k even with the headliner and seat belts and at $130/hr. labor I can't see them spending 54 hours on it. That is insane.

I am aware that the side airbags will deploy if a strong enough "shock" is felt by the sensors above a certain speed. This is "by design" which may explain GM's resistance.

When they gave me that bill, I ripped it up in front of them and sprinkled the pieces on the desk and told them to try again

I called GM again and tried to go through the process again they denied me again. What do I do now? I really don't want to pay for the damages but it's looking that way. I discussed this with my dad we have 3 options: make a claim with the insurance, pay out of pocket, or hire a lawyer. I vote for the latter but then I'd have to get my dad involved (I've been handling this on my own until now) and my dad is a busy man and I don't want to get him frustrated with another problem on top of all the other stuff he's gotta deal with. So, if I was to go the lawyer route what type of lawyer do I need to hire and who is good at this stuff? I know I got a bit personal but I'm trying to rectify a problem and save my dad money.

When I was denied, I began speaking with corporate directly. They set someone out and he did a ****ty inspection. He did not look into the problem well enough so I called back and told them where he was deficient. I pushed hard enough and threw a lot of facts in their faces. They finally gave in.

When I said I wanted to talk to corporate, the service manager called them and connected me. The service manager put in a claim or something like that with corporate.
