Pre-Moab To do list?

So for those of you going to moab what maintenance or mods have to be done before the big trip?

Ill start, for squeaky I need
-Power steering fluid flush
-reroute rear abs lines inside framerail
-new rear shocks
-Pull CI diff w/o locker and put in the C/I diff with the locker in


The past 2 years the list was much bigger but my King of the hammers weekend trip checked off a lot of things that will still be good for moab.

For my brothers Jeep, I have no idea what hes doing but I will say it will be a lot which means, less time on squeaky.

-Install new front and rear coil springs
-revalve his 2.5in 12in travel king shocks
-Set up new bumpstops for new coils and shocks
-skids
-upgrade to 37s from 35s (his tires are old and getting slick)
-I would recommend for him to install a factory cruise control module for a 15 hr drive. (Dont understand how a 2008 vehicle doesnt have C.C. standard.
-I would also recommend to him that he should install the stick on headliner for his hardtop. That will cut down on a lot of road noise for his long trip.
-Front and rear diff fluid
-t case fluid

Hes gonna have a lot to do premoab.

Re-arch rear leafs and add a full length leaf, including all new bushings.
New tires
Repair or replace exhaust manifold, including new O2 sensors
Oil change

The already been done list is pretty long.

The 97 is in the shop for the following:

Install new brake pads
Install new power steering pump
Install new steering gear
Diagnose and fix hard shifts from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3
Front diff whine when loaded
Diagnose / pressure test cooling system to find possible leak
Paint roof
Fix rust
Alignment

I need to get a tuner and tint for sure before I leave to head to Moab. I still need to install a double camera system, one on the front license plate and one on the rear which can both be turned on with a switch. Then I just need to take the raptor out and practice a bit to get used to it off-road. I'm excited

Chris, are you talking the second cat? That one isn't regulated by the O2 sensors. The cat in the exhaust manifold has an O2 sensor on either side measuring before and after, but nothing measures the second cat. Unless y'all have some weird California stuff going on.

Did you put in an OEM sensor or aftermarket?

Two. One just before the primary cat, one just after. Here's a good example of what my header looks like, from a Craigslist ad. You can see both O2 sensor holes.

alrock is there away to get rid of the cats and have it not throw a code and make the computer think its there? theres some smog law in california that now you dont even have to have the sinffer test, they just plug your car into the obd2 computer and it tells the computer if its running clean and if you are, you pass. if theres away to delete the cats without the computer knowing this would be a good way to get some power out of the I5!

honestly what i want to do is register are cars to are Idaho address and then not have to worry about smog at all, just fill out the paper work and pay the fee and the person hands you a plate lol

Not sure if your cat setup is an 06 thing or a California thing. The pic I supplied is an 07 here in AZ.
