Is that for all week or just the first weekend where there is a lot of EJS overlap? For $300.00/night I might be pitching a tent at the Outpost with the rest of you. At those rates it would make more sense to rent a couple of condos for the week or try out Candi's cabins.

When I looked at Motel6.com earlier today they quoted me 299.95 a night for the duration of the stay

I'll pay $300.00-500.00 a night for The Royal Palm or Ritz but I am not paying $300.00 a night for Motel 6. That is crazy.

What are the rates the following week? We amy need to look into that - otherwise, a lot of folks may not be able to attend.

Same rates the following week.

This kind of hotel expense really is prohibitive for me, guess I won't be staying at the Motel 6 this time.

I have been planning and stuff also. For 300 a night for 6 days thats around 1800 bucks. I would rather sleep in a tent and buy a CI diff w/ the front locker for that.

Let me know if you find any good deals. I dont mind camping but doing homework in a tent would probably get old quick. I need a desk but a desk also isnt worth 300 a night :)

look at the available condo options. Looking at 2, 3 or even 4 bed condos could save you money and give you a nicer place to stay.

You could study at Neo's dining room table. I have a feeling people are going to be looking at condo deals, cabins, etc. Those with motorhomes might consider bringing them if the rates stay this high. I love to camp even though I don't consider pitching a tent in a park or someone's yard camping for $2100.00 I would rather tent it than pay for a crappy Motel 6 hotel room. Interesting that in this economy Motel 6 can get, or think they can get, $300.00/night.

May have a cheaper solution for up to like 8 people, have a basement with two rooms and a large common area for a few folks on the floor or bring air mattress. Only down side is we only have one bathroom.

(Yes it is in moab, not far from Micky d's and the movie theater in mountain view subdivision. )

Wes, Cotilo and I may just take you up on your offer. Thank you. Probably depends on whether our neighbors, Bill & Kathy join us.

My guess is that rates come down before BSHS week gets here. You can ask whatever you want but when people don't pay up they will drop rates. I can't believe anyone is stupid enough to pay $300.00 for Motel 6.

Im with you on that. I about fell out of my chair when I saw the Motel 6 rates. I will be keeping an eye on the rates though. Hopefully they will come down.

I'm going to call again in the morning on the Condos. I'll see if we rent 2 or 3 of the 3 bed/ 2 bath condos if they will discount more.

Since the week before and the week after are "Event Weekends" the prices are goign through the roof. Although the Cmpany i talked with would discount since we are staying Thurs through Thurs.

A lot of us stay Saturday night through Friday or Saturday night. At those types of prices Neo is going to need a bigger yard.:)

Neo, let's do another night run!!!! although we only did part of Fin's, it was blast.

We ran with just parking lights for the most part. With the moon out, it was great! Of course we played with our off road lighting when you weren't pointed at someone elses rig, but it was a whole different experience. A night run on Hell's would be fun. :)
guess I better get those rock lights installed on the next couple of months.
