I am planning on coming at this point. The only obstacle I have at this point is traveling for work a lot and it may change my plans. I have the truck apart now and lots of new part on the way. I will be ready.

JR3T stays at the outpost also ...

It is the best place in town. As always, many thanks for lending me a spot in your yard. I really enjoy hanging out at the outpost.
To anyone thinking about camping, I strongly recommended bringing a heater. It can get into the 20's at night, very gusty, and likely a few short showers at night in April.
I like the Mr Heater "Buddy" heater. It has some good safety features. Tilt sensor, O2 sensor and certified for indoor use if you accidentally fall asleep with it on. Also, get the Mr Heater plasticizer-free 10ft hose, Mr Heater propane filter, and a 20lb propane tank. Will last the whole week.
Amazon has some good prices:
Heater $79
Hose $35
Filter $11

In case you missed the earlier post.. The rates that are on the motel 6 website will come adjust to their new 2012 rates on January 1st! They will not quote any new rates till then! This is what I was told on the phone the other day when I asked what was going on!

Seems a crazy way to run a business, I said I knew several people that would book now, she didn't seem to care one way or the other!

She did say you can book now, the rate will come down but it will be high season when we will be there, but not $299 high!

Motel 6 will drastically lower their rates or their parking lot will be empty. If they can rent their place for$125/night I will be building a hotel in Moab and retiring there as soon as it is completed.

I think the bottom line is, hotels in Moab will always have customers, just as long as the rates aren't outrageous. There's probably always going to be more demand than supply.

Agreed, with the caveat that the rates have to be reasonable. Remember, the European economic situation looks even worse than ours. I would be surprised if the Europe to America tourism doesn't fall way off this year.
