All,

I'm compiling the attendee list. I have contact info for some of you from previous trips.

In order to be able to complete the list, I need Name, cell phone, email, emergency contacts (name & phone number), your arrival & departure days, vehicle make & model and your license plate for the following confirmed attendees:

Once I have that, I will email everyone a draft attendee list, get any corrections to your info from you and then send the final list.

Please PM me this info.

Sent you a PM, if you need any other info let me know.

Thanks for organizing this Mikkel

The time changes but usually around 8:30 or 9:00. It depends some on the trail everyone decides to run that day. Longer trails, you start earlier.

Run what you brung. You will be fine. Everybody goes through the pre-Moab drills trying to make sure their truck is ready. It usually comes down to the last minute for all of us. 92 is going back to Tustin for Mike to do a few things to it. Hope to make a quick tune up run and then finish packing for Moab.

For me, it is a fun "stress" making sure my truck is ready but I really don't plan any more than I do for any other good local run. Truck should be in good working shape, at least as far as I can reasonably determine, and I bring my normal spares and tools. Ironically I knew my truck was ready when I took everything out of it last week - tools, wiring stuff, boxes, etc. as all of my important projects were completed. I still have to rewire my KCs but that is a low, low priority.

At the end of the day it is a neverending project for all of us. If I had to leave right now I would feel ok about wheeling my rig but I am just OCD'ing it right now. I dropped off the hummer a few minutes ago, they are going to fix the exhaust leak that occurred after replacing the head and doing a good inspection of anything alarming. After that im heading out to Moab ready or not :)

Well let's check the truck to see if it's ready.

It's still on jackstands, tires and wheels at shop being balanced.
All four springs laying in the corner of the garage, new ones in a box on the shelf.
All front and rear control arms removed waiting for bolts.
No shocks, should be here today.
Brake rotors out at the office being painted.
Cross member and skid plates somewhere in the garage.
Is that the front driveshaft over there by the workbench????

I've got a ways to go.

My wife brought me some dinner in the garage last night. She felt sorry for me laying under the truck wrenching after a long day at the office. It's therapy for me, I was smiling the entire time. Except when I removed ALL the skin from that knuckle.

Last fall when I had this truck in Moab it had a simple 2 1/2 inch spacer lift and stock shocks with extensions. It amazed me how well it worked but I got bored and wanted better. I am installing an AEV 2 1/2 inch lift with progressive rate springs, Bilstein shocks that are valved specifically for AEV and these springs and replacing all of the control arm bolts as they were sized in metric for SAE equipment. This along with some new skid shields and other routine maintenance while it is all apart. I simply got a little behind on my schedule to complete this thing but it will be ready in time for Moab. I took some time this winter and overhauled the garage with new paint, lighting, cabinets and benches. I REALLY need to buy a lift.

My offroad vehicle spends as much time on jackstands as it does tires. I'm usually tinkering with something on it 2 or 3 evenings each week. We ended our boating habit a year ago and the kids are getting older so I find myself with time on my hands these days. Next up is a late 60s or early 70s camaro or chevelle for a project. I'll always keep an offroad vehicle though.
