I at first thought the same thing as mudiak but solar brings up a great point. who knows if this thing is a success or a disaster. I just think it's funny how when "chad" owned it I called and he couldn't understand why everyone was asking about the front end swap....he probably thought it was a plain old simple lifted H3

before we all go around claiming this thing is a pile and is a mess we need facts. We dont have facts that it has issues, Solar has a good point about trading it in, If you look at the paper plate on the front its being sold from a colorado dealer which is where "Chad" was from. He probably tried to do a private sale but no one would buy it. 99% of the hummer population dont wheel and seeing this is unique he needed a buyer like us which he probably never found. He then got fed up and did a trade in. Is all that that true? Maybe, maybe not...Who knows. I wont call it a walking diaster before I see it and determine for a fact that it is a diaster.

All valid speculation, but the quickest answer is to check the Carfax. If it has changed owners several times then there might be something wrong with it. If it has just been listed by several different lots, then maybe it is just misunderstood.

On the other hand, you need to find out who did the conversion. If the modifications were done professionally it is a lot different than if it was done by Billy Bob and his cousin Joe Blow in their paws garage using salvaged parts.

Indeed my guess is he couldn't find a buyer and was tired of trying to sell it privately. Last I knew he was pretty frustrated with the number of inquires about the SAC but little to no interest in the truck itself. Like anything modified, its harder to sell. Look at the number of H3's on auto trader, most of them are only on there for a short time but when one comes across on there with a Rancho lift kit it seems to be there for months. What I 06 H3 & I said could be true, what 05Mudiak & ReconH3 said could be true but non of us know for sure.

I agree with you 100% I didn't mean to come off as this rig is perfect but always don't want people to think it's a wreck until we have some other valid points

I emailed him this:

Hi, my names Dirk. I live down in salt lake city utah, and I am interested in the solid axle swaped H3 you have for sale. I tried calling up there, but couldn't get an answer.

Basically, i want to know that who ever did the solid front axle swap was a professional and not just a hack job done in some guys garage. So i was wondering if you could take some pictures of the front leaf springs/leaf spring hangers/shackles/front drive shaft etc. i'm mainly worried about the strength and quality of the build. I would greatly appreciate it, as i've seen this for sale numurous times, and always been interested, but I can't get anyone to take pictures of it.

Thank You

And got this:

Dirk,
First off sorry I didn't answer the phone today but we had a snow storm overnight and it knocked power out to most of the city of Loveland.
I can tell you the lift is done right and is solid. The truck is very clean and is in excellent condition. I can't get pics today because of the snow but will be able to later in the week. When I first got the hummer it drove terrible and I spent some money on it to drive straight. I don't know who did the swap, I haven't been able to find out any information on who does it. My name is Mike and I am the GM of the dealership. I am knowledgable about off road vehicles and have been wheeling myself my whole life. I can give you honest and accurate information about this H-3.

I Lived 8 miles from this town for 22 years of my life ... funny that it is there. Maybe I can talk some of my wifes 20 family members that live there to go look at it??? And YES, they had 8" of snow over night :)

Without knowing who built it/ who the previous owner and how well they take care of or how much they beat on it I would be pretty cautious on buying it. Who knows it might be one hell of a rig!

Ahh yes. There it is again...the endangered White Rhino. Its understandable that this truck drove like a mess...I spoke to Chad and he clearly wasn't a wrench-head. Hopefully the new owner (note the different tags), took the time to work out the bugs. Somehow this rig has managed to fly under the forum-radar for several years...giving up very little info. Maybe Mr Prestel can get us some REAL info of this rig. Not parking-lot photos. Not Chad responses. But real bottom-side photos on a rack, real info regarding ABS, steering system, springs, with dimensions, etc.
