UPDATE:

I don't have time to properly manufacture/sell/support these parts, so I'm making the manufacturing files available to everyone on here. If you have a local laser shop, they should have no problems making a set of these for you. Also, if someone else want's to manufacture and sell these, you are more than welcome to do so! Hope this helps you guys out

Files can be found here:

To keep from cluttering the other thread, figured I'd make a separate one just for these. I've got lots of pics to post, including some output shots at night.

After retrofitting my headlights with projectors (TRS MiniD2s 3.0 running 55w ballasts and 5500k bulbs), I found that the OEM halogen foglights were all but useless. Couldn't even tell when they were on.
It's not that I needed any more light, as the projectors are extremely bright and wide, but more-so that the foglights just needed upgraded as well.

So I found some 5" LED lights that I really liked the look of, and ordered up a set. They're 60w (using 10w LEDs) and are a near perfect match for the H3 foglight "hole" in the front fascia.

In the bracket design, I wanted to make use of the OEM height adjusting mechanism and make these new lights as easy to install as possible.

Here are some concept renderings:

Next up was the prototype to make sure that these would actually fit/function as planned.

Fitment was spot-on and installation was very easy. Just remove the OEM foglight mounting bracket, pop the old lights out of place, and pop these into place. After that, the little "clip" for the adjusting mechanism transfers over to the new bracket, and you're in business.

Here are the first set of output pictures. These were taken out on a back road.

Now keep in mind that my headlights have like 5-6x the output of the factory H3 halogens... I believe if these were compared to some stock headlights, the difference would be MUCH more impressive. But I can tell you that the LED lights are definitely bright.

Next set. These were taken on another back road, and with the hummer facing a hill (so that the cutoff would be visible).

I've been in direct contact with the manufacturer of these LED lights. They are in the process of giving me a quote/lead-time for producing these using 10w Cree AMBER LEDs instead of the White LEDs.
I really want to try these in Amber, as I think they would be perfect for use in inclement weather.

What do you guys think?

Got the quote back for Amber LED Lights. It appears that 10w LEDs are not available in Amber, so the alternative is to use 3w LEDs. Lights would be 1/3rd of the power/output, so I'm not exactly sure that would work well.
Also, minimum order quantity for a custom batch is quite large.

I may play around with some Amber/Yellow LaminX film and see if that does anything at all.

Ok, so GOOD NEWS! I've gotten the approval to move forward on here, and will be placing an order for these brackets tomorrow. Lead time is 1 week before I have them in hand.

I've got two options for material/finish:

A.) Stainless Steel (304) material and raw finish

B.) Carbon Steel (Mild) and powdercoated black

Which would you guys prefer? Doesn't really matter to me, as both are almost identical in price (powdercoating offsets the added cost of stainless material).

Mildsteel powdercoated (too much humidity and salt watet here)
Is there a how to for removing the bumper/accessing the fog light area?

I can do the powder coated version, no problem.

Either will work well, and you really can't see these brackets once installed.

As for installation, I didn't remove the bumper. I pulled the grill and did everything from the top side.
With the grill removed, you can look down in there and see the 3x bolts that you need to remove for each light.
Then just pull the light assembly out, swap out the foglamp for the led light, and reinstall.

Very nice, great idea and kudos on keeping the functionality of the stock mounts. I would be interested in a set of powder coated brackets as well.
