Thanks id love to hear everyone's opinions on tires. I'll just give some info and yall can tell me what you think. I'm in highschool so i can't get very expensive tires so hopefully near $200, i don't drive very far so wear won't be that big of an issue but i drive on road majority of times and whenever i will be going off-roading it will be in mud so imma need a progressive tire. I would be okay with an m/to as long as it's not super aggressive and expensive. Thoughts?

My vote is for the duratracs. I run those in 35s. Great on road. They're siped for water, snow and ice. I air em down to 18 when I go wheeling and I haven't had any issues... They are an aggressive at.

The Duratracs do well everywhere, which is good, but they cake up in thick mud. They do well in soupy mud tho. I had the Duratracs, now the Kelly's and the Kelly's do not squirm in corners for the first 10k miles like the Duratracs, the seemed to do a little better in snow too. Have not had a chance to try them in that thick, clay-mud yet. The Coopers would be my second choice but the STT's are prone to chunking from what I've heard.

Highly recommend Cooper STT. I got 119k out of my first set, only rotated them once. The second set I got 80k out of them but never rotated them and the fronts were worn due to worn out front end. Depending how much you drive, it could be the last set you purchase for a long time.

Hows the ride quality and road noise? Im thinking about upgrading to 37s and those tires, as well as the st-maxx are on my list (D ratig). I want a quiet tire that isnt rough on road and doesnt reduce ride quality (I have a 100 mile daily commute)
Im running cooper at3s atm, great tire on and offroad. Done 30k miles and barely any noticeable wear. I do rotate them every 6k.

I'm very happy with my Michelin LTX-AT2. They are d rated and you can't tell, very smooth and quiet on the road. One of the very few A/T that come with a 75k mileage . You air them up from 32-80 psi, depending how much weight is on them. I run them at 35. The only time I wasn't impressed with them, -20f on a snow packed highway. The only type of tire good in those conditions,is a soft compound snow tire. I spent two years in the Gulf, I don't think it ever dropped below 40f. Snow probably isn't a concern of yours lol . The local guy matched Tire Rack price of 225 a tire. Looks like they are going on the wife's Jeep next. Goodyear stands for, good year to change your tires. I have never got more than 50k on a set of GoodYears. I won't buy a new car with them on there,a tire swap will be part of the deal.

The goodyears here are ridiculously priced locally. 400 USD for a a 32". Coopers went for 250 each (35") which is why I went with them, as for michelins they only have sedan tires. Im about to make the move and get a rancho upfront/soa rear and with a body lift already installed 35s will look small, which is why Im looking for a good set of 37s.

Thats sucks b/c I have Good Year MTRs with Kevlar and only used 1/3 the life on my tires with 47k miles on. The tires will make 2.5 years old next month. Only doing a 4 tire rotation, instead of a 5 rotation.

Some people can make them work but I sure can't . My H3 only gets about 7k a year. My work truck can see 20 to 30k. The wife's Commander has 45k on a bald set of GoodYears. If I don't get 60k plus on a set of tires,I'm pissed. The wife's Jeep came with those tires, we couldn't get the tire switched in the deal. The truck was a great deal Evan with the junk tires.

I'd say go with a good quality tire...like someone already mentioned here...things that are "cheap" usually don't last...and then you are force to replace them....just research the tires out there, have a list of the ones you like or seem promising...and then get down and do your research on them...as well at this time you can be saving money...unless you are in a hurry and need tires badly (due to safety factors) you should take your time and look for a quality tire...I love my 35's Goodyear wranglers mtrz with Kevlar I have about 4-5K miles on them mostly high way, and they still look fresh as they did when I first put them on, except for some minor chips from rock crawling and what not.

So after everything i have said, (decent priced tire, won't be going offroad that much but when i do must be good in mud, majority used on road but i won't be going far so tread won't be huge problem only a few miles per day no Absurd amount of miles everyday) after hearing all that what tire would you guys suggest im open to suggestions and will be buying tires this next week. (305's or 33's btw) doesn't have to be cheap but i mean affordable not cheap if that changes anything so like the lower 200's. If you want you could post a picture as well as the tires name or just the name im just looking for a good tire. Thanks everybody

You want a set of the Kelly Safari TSR's. You can fit your finger/thumb inbetween those lugs! They are some of the lighter tires in class too which should help reduce rolling losses from heavier mud tires. A very good all around tire. No problems in the mud for me yet.

How long have you had them and how do they wear down? As fast as the mud grapplers or much better?

Ok so Ik I've said it a few time but my dad kept on recommending me the buckshots he used to run on his old Toyota, he said he loved the tire and it got him anywhere he wanted to go but the tread is just insane ride quality is gonna suck and noise but he said it would look great so anyway i was looking at tires still a mud tire but not too progressive like the old buckshots and something i can drive on the road without it wearing down then again i don't drive very far so thats not a huge problem anyway i ran across these ImageUploadedByTapatalk1404702911.606760.jpg theyre xmt buckshot mudders but a newer version I've seen reviews on em and they say its a pretty good tire doesn't wear to quickly and does well offroad and little on road noise so that is all good but i couldn't find 305's so i hink imma settle with the 285's. Y'all's thoughts on the tire would be appreciated -here's a link http://www.ntwonline.com/285X75R16D-33X11.50R16-BLK-XMT-Buckshot-Mudder.html#.U7oP3Hi9LCQ (sorry for the long reply)

Mud tires are perfect for where I live... and that's the deal, what's perfect for what I do maybe be stupid for someone else. We do lots of mud wheeling, snow wheeling (we have easy-to-compact snow called Cascade cement), and driving in hydroplane-inducing ruts. Mud tires don't float like AT tires, load up like AT tires, or simply spin on their self-create ice patch.
