And I hate mall crawlers... What's the point of owning a hummer or jeep if your not gonna wheel with it. Grinds my gears

Thanks for all the advice guys! We may not be big as the jeep community, but I feel like we are so much closer and it makes me proud to own a hummer.

(Didn't wanna sound too cheesy but wanted to get that off my chest)

UCP and rock rails. Can't stress this enough. Then recovery gear and spares. Everything else is aesthetic bullish!t for the most part. As long as you have the previous stuff you can wheel with peace of mind, and enjoy your rig while you order all the rest of the crap and bolt it on. I went mostly backwards, and regret it, especially when I got stuck and pretty much jack sh!t other than the aid of a kind and generous rancher who pulled me out. Was a close shave and a generous helping of humble pie. Learn from my mistakes!

and yes, that's me in the last pic by the driver tire laying in the mud scooping it out of my A arms and from under my skid plate to break suction because the mud was so thick it wouldn't come off the shovel. Had to dig by hand for about 12hrs in the middle if BFE. Zoom in close, my face says it all LOL! Funny now, not so much at the time!

Lol same thing happened to me but it was stuck in a mud hole and the water around it froze over night... My friends tried to get me out and his truck got stuck too. So both of our trucks were stuck out there over night below freezing and had to get winched out by a jeep the next day

TIRES TIRES TIRES! By far the single biggest bang-for-your-buck mod. After that, I would immediately focus your mods on keeping the junk front end together. Diff bushings, Crossmember bushing, and steering rack bushings....all more important than skids, rails, bumpers, winches, etc. (and that's coming from a guy that makes bumpers and skids!).

As time goes by and I see more and more H3's with mileage above 75,000...its becoming very apparent that ALL H3s should get new poly-u diff & rack bushings (soccer moms or off-roaders). They're easy to install, fairly inexpensive, and they make a huge difference. Its sometimes hard to make yourself spend money on such items but, if you off-road at all...you should do this stuff first. The new bushings keep your front-end components firmly located where they are supposed to...really important with big tires. Once you do these few mods...then go get some off-road goodies.

I havent owned my h3 very long so I dont have a ton of mods like others. So far ive done 35" duratracs, pcm tune, custom cai, aem dryflow air filter and a B&M trans cooler. Like 4speedfunk suggested, my next mods are the steering rack and crossmember bushings. I hate the bump steer I get when going over railroad tracks or hitting potholes (nj roads are all pot holes lol).

I think the trans cooler is a great cheap mod. Lower trans temps means longer life and no more risk of cross contamination that can destroy your trans.

I've put literally 10 miles on them... but so far so good. I will say they're a lot more quiet than the bfgs I had on my old YJ.
