I think your rig just drew the short straw lol lots of other peeps running 35's for who knows how long on a stock tranny. Good luck with the repair though.
Yeah... I have 170,000 still running strong. Have had 35's on since 97,000.

Ordered up some more parts from forum member Schwarttzy!!

Extended shackles and the high clearance shock mounts!

I am getting prepped for a addition to the box early next year and need to get the back end level!

You'll be happy with the clearance and lift, the leaf mounts units may be a challenge, some folks have had no issues others have. He'll work with you though!

Re-installed, led cubes, light bar, Halos, touched up paint, cleaned up wiring, Re mounted my roofrack. I'm going to do some clean up work on it to make it nice.

i'm planning on making some 6.5" speaker mounts where the factory tweeters are, and maybe a second battery mount next to the airbox.

As of last 3 weeks this is what I've done.

I've had the halos on headlights and fog lights. Those are now gone.

I've put 2 inch spacers on wheels

Made mesh covers foor the front bumper corner pieces

Replaced front differential bushing kit. From outfitters design

Mounted 2 flush mount backup lights with green tint.

Installed tail light guards with a twist. Put expanded metal on them.

Leveled front end and Installed 1 inch Psystar body lift

New projector led fog lights
New led headlights. That's why halos are gone.

Currently working on mictunning touchscreen control for front pods and lightbar. Wired mictunning control box along with relays. Haven't installed yet. Because I just pulled damn wires out of plug so need to resolder.

Will throw pictures up later, but swapped chrome handles for black, removed some terrible DIY headrest video screen install and put new headrests in, replaced hood shocks, red "HUMMER" decal to front bumper, and daystar tray installed. Waiting on all four new window switches and antenna mount to come in.

Really like the expanded metal mesh, particularly on the front bumper ends and the taillight guards. Nice.

I just drained and refilled my front & rear diffs, and the transfer case. Used GM Manual Trans & Transfer Case fluid (#88861800) for the transfer case; only $10 qt. at the Chevy dealer. They wanted $30 qt for their 75W-90 Synthetic gear oil (#88900401; (supercedes 89021677)), so I went instead with Royal Purple 75W-90 Synthetic. Still $20 qt, but that saved me $40.

I love the idea of putting the mesh on the rear taillight guards. Makes them a lot more functional at preventing the lens from being broken by smaller branches that would fit through the bars.

That's was the reason for the mesh on the tail lights.
It's fairly thin gauge expanded metal. But should be sufficient protection

I tried every single combination for the wires. Either the high would work or the lows. Pics is what I finally left it at..
On a side note. I wired only one light along with a oem light and they both worked properly. I checked the relays and all connections.
Watched plenty of videos on the wiring issues but didn't really help. I ended up just using a toggle switch for highs.
It think it's got something to do by going to pen standar bulbs and less. It's got some kind resistance. Not sure

Well might as well start this thread again, so post up! If you have old info you want to save in here, throw it in here! If the old thread is resurrected then please delete this one!

Ill start:

This past March, i traded in my daily for a new daily. My old daily was an 01 suburban with 110XXX miles, which isn't bad however everything underneath was rusted to hell. The rear pinion bearing gave out completely and almost grenaded the rear diff. The tech at the dealer said he pulled out a handful of metal from the diff. Needless to say they were willing to give me on trade in what i was expecting to get, even with the pending repair. So I snagged a nice 2015 silverado extended cab, matching color too!
my%20cars_zpsuseepyye.jpg

I had the BA bumper and rock rails blasted and coated in line-x platinum/premium, whichever one is their highest quality spray, to ensure it won't fade from UV rays.

I also threw on the engo 10k-s winch that has been sitting in my closet for 3 years. Installing this bumper by yourself is not the easiest thing to do, but doable.

Snapchat-7129376856260629660_zpsc9jf2mct.jpg

I also took off my old offroad lights that weren't working and the old wiring atrocity that they were hooked up to.
Old wires :whaa:
Snapchat-7410121200019073287_zpszth3rl0c.jpg

New lights are KC pro sport gravity leds (spot beam), led wiring harnesses are so simple its stupid. I used only 1 harness even though its 2 set of lights. I bought some splitters from here http://www.speeddemonlights.com/harness-splitter-1-dt-light-end-2-dt-harness-end.html They work great and let me run all 4 lights off of one switch.

20160412_214600_zps9ocggzv6.jpg

I also picked up a gauge pod from a guy on facebook who was taking the time to custom build and paint them. I plan on installing an oil pressure gauge and transmission temp gauge. I want this done right and the wiring and install to look as close to OEM so im waiting on doing anything until i have everything all planned out. However i do have the pod installed, gives me a nice view of the airbag behind it!

I also did do an muffler delete, i'm getting the pipe extended this week so that the plastic on the bumper doesn't melt.
Here's a clip, i think it sounds decent, not ricy at all.

Do you have a alpha or a I5? That actually sounds great

That was on my old Alpha. Yea I thought it sounded good, it would drone at high speeds some but it wasn't too bad. You have to extend the pipe back towards the rear some after you cut it, othewise the heat gets trapped under the body and will start to melt plastic pieces. Found this out the hard way.

I have a i5. What kind of results do you think I would get?

Others have done it with the I5, i think there might be some youtube videos or results somewhere on here. Honestly I am not sure what it might sound like.

I cut mine off and never had that problem, probably depends where you cut it.

Here is where I have it cut on my alpha I cut the resonator too.

on the i5 I believe I had it cut where the pipe has a downward angle. I can get a better picture if needed.
I think pic is good enough. I am going to do that today. Thanks

I installed the Firestik quick disconnect K-1A the other day for my CB/HAM antenna. Really nice quality, should have done this much sooner in my life, live and learn.
