Don't mention your V8 swap or they will try to blame it on your "custom" setup

Good luck with the dealer!

Will do, thanks for coming to the rescue. That was a seriously sharp knife btw.
Ripped up all the bags, and tucked the ceiling edges back in.

Set up an appointment for Monday morning at the GMC dealer. Full detail, oil change, trans service, and the blower recall. I put a $100 bid on a $500 gift card at a silent auction. My dirty old 3 scored a cheap day at the Spa.:horns:

First time on the dunes since the V8 swap.
The side airbags deployed when I hit a steep dune, threw me off the trail and gave me a bad burn on the shoulder. Seatbelts stopped working too.

Had to go easy on it from there. Otherwise, the 5.3 motor with the 4.56 differentials was like magic. Towed a Land cruiser and a Vitara out of a very messy situation while on my way back home.

Im gonna show up at the dealership with pitchforks tomorrow morning, try and get a free replacement.

Just curious; did it tear up any of the interior upholstery? When my daughter’s side airbags deployed in her Mitsubishi Gallant, it destroyed the upholstery that the airbags were hidden behind.

It did not rip through anything, bags come out from the edge of the ceiling.
I was able to tuck most of it in without visible damage. I'll take pictures.

Reindexed the driver side torsion bar.
Finished cranking to about 23 1/4.

Added the Schwartzzy high clearance mounts and shackles. Puts back the distinct H3 rake (which I like). No real changing in the ride, but the shackles sure are better made than some of the other options out there (not just for the H3).

Replaced brake pads and rotors in the back. And like an idiot I forgot to release the parking brake so I couldn't figure out at first why the rotor was not coming off.

Getting those springs back on is a test in patience. My left ebrake was light so that got readjusted.

Anyways I've been happy with the OEM parts so I'll run them again this time.

Still up is the rear differential cover, hi lift mount, and CB.

Steering is still okay, so I'll look to the OD parts for that in the future.

I accidentally broke the vacuum line connection to the solenoid on the supercharger, so I used a brass barb to restore the line connection... but then on my test drive I had a tone more power?

After some research I guess what I had done was increase the amount of vacuum by putting on a larder barb (original had a reducer in it) that enguages the solenoid at a lower RPM which in turn "turns on" the supercharger sooner since the bypass gets closed off by the solenoid... going to see how this effect mileage, but for now I am loving this new low RPM power!

Used the winch to pull out a b-pillar on a neighbors van that was side swiped. The front door closes now, but the slider doesn't anymore... Oh well, not really my problem now.

I tend to find all sorts of reasons to set up my winch and pull something!!

Since Rigid did not invent or create the only LED light bar or even the first LED light bar I do not feel bad using multiple different brands. I have Rigid, Rough Country and Trial brand lights. I am even testing out my own one that is being worked on with RW Technologies. This back up light is from Trial and honestly besides having a higher amperage draw than the Ridged it has just as good of light output and cost 1/10th the price of Ridged.

I was only pulling your chain bud

If Rigid didn't invent it who did... this could be biased but it seem pretty clear to me that they did: http://www.rigidindustries.com/about

The electronics company I manage has been using small light bars for medical applications for over 30 years way past Rigids 2006 application into off road trucks. I am not saying this company created them but they have been around for a long time especially since LED's became commercially available in 1962. Don't worry I always enjoy a good conversation. No feelings hurt here.

I still would find an extremely hard time spending money on a rigid just for the name because there are bars that are 1/10th the cost which are equally reliable with similar output. Plus, does one really need a 1k light bar mounted on their roof on a daily driver/weekend warrior?

3 years ago I paid $400 for the rigid knockoffs Aurora. They are 400 watt bar (5 watt leds) and pulls 35 amps (will burn a 30 amp fuse on thr spot).
Fast forward to today and its as good as new.
