Yellow Top or Red Top battery?

I have the opportunity to get a new Yellow Top Optima battery, 1125 CCA, for around $115.

I was always under the impression that I would want a Red Top for my H3 versus a Yellow because of it being deep cycle.

Should I go for it?

Yes. I had a yellow top in my Jeep Liberty, moved it to my Crown Vic Police Interceptor, then to my Dodge Neon, then to the Neon that replaced that one, and then was an idiot and let it go with the Neon. I abused the crap out of that thing, especially in the Neon. The door chime wasn't working and so I kept leaving my lights on and draining the battery. It came back every single time no problem.

The yellow is still perfectly fine to use as a starting battery, it's good if you have a bunch of electronics and/or a winch. The red isn't technically a deep cycle battery, so it's not going to handle deep discharges as well as the yellow. Blue top is the one that is supposed to primarily be deep cycle (boat/troller motor, RV's, etc) rather than a starting battery.

Running two yellow top. Love em. Never worry about power. Pretty sure NASCAR runs Mobil 1 so I'll cast my vote with crazy arse drivers at 200+ mph.

Yeah Odyssey is considered one of the best if not the best.. But I think an Optima for $115 has a place in the market. My Red Top 34 has been good its first year, hoping for many more. I know I know key word "hoping" lol.

I went with a duralast agm group 34 from autozone earlier this year, they are rebadged Dekas? or some other brand IIRC. Best part was that it only cost me $16 because my previous battery had been from autozone and fell under their warranty :)

I would have liked to get the odyssey but for $16 I couldn't pass up the opportunity.
