Wanting a nice condition H1 (Preferd HMCS, or HMCO, but will look into HMC4 HMSB. Don't really want HMC2 due to almost no room). This will be coming from my pocket, and with some "problems" happening in the family's life, it sounds like we are going to look into getting me a vehicle. Wanting to get a 1997-1998 or 2001-2003 in preferable condition. Most I can afford is $50K. Might consider a 1994-1996 if its in really good condition. Anyway if anyone see's something, let me know!

Im no H1 expert like dave, but I would at the 97-98. That was before the TT4 and made BTMing a lot easier...

I agree with you and tell people the same ('97.5/'98's are my fav), but in reality if one wheels the truck like it wants to be wheeled lockers are eventually a must have.

I think I agree with Ron on the lockers but I have wheeled locked and unlocked trucks and I actually enjoy wheeling the unlocked trucks more.

this is absolutely true. It works so well in the early trucks that it really is fun, and will leave others scratching their heads as to how you got through obstacles without even stopping.

I changed to lockers to ease wear and tear on the drivetrain/brakes as I was starting to do harder and harder trails (and I got spooked watching a t-case blow on the old gate keeper/rubicon).

If you ever get a chance to wheel an older hummer...try it, you will love it.

LOL, like I have always said...If the day comes where I can afford the price and maintenance of an H1 I will buy from dave. His rigs are maintained really well!

Dave, as a matter of fact can u find a 98 or older 2 door H1 (like neos) or 4 door soft top buy it now, fix it all up at tustin, wheel it, keep it maintained and in about 10 years ill buy it from you

I'm helping a friend sell 2 H1s here in Tucson. I'll be posting pics and info within the next 24 hrs - one is a '98 silver 4-door hard-top with an after-market slant back (w/73k mi.), the other is an '03 black soft-top (w/85.5k mi.). If anyone has any specific questions or info. you want to know about either of these 2 rigs, let me know.
