What did you do with your H3 recently? NEW

Well, I rotated the tires, replaced the driver side CV axle, passenger side LBJ, and will need to replace the driver side hub/ABS sensor as the bearing is bad and it appears that the ABS wire cover has a break in it which could explain the ABS/Stability lights on my dash. Did manage to get a much needed alignment.

If the alternator takes a different connector then I can assure you the regulator is the issue. I found that no matter what I tried the computer on the h3 would not recognize the alternator until I had a local shop put the right regulator in it. Like I said earlier the 3 expects a specific regulator and won’t see anything else. This is the regulator that came in new alternator. Replacing the plug end won’t help even though the wires are the same.

This is stock. If you take the 240 to a alternator shop and ask them to verify the regulator will work for your application they can show you online where the internal signal components are different for the H3 regulator. Parts and labor to switch regulators was about $75 for me.

Your situation sounds identical to mine. I was upgrading getting ready for dual battery, lights and winch. Put in old and all was good. Put in new with different connector and charge was minimal at best. Now with right regulator everything is good.

looking on eBay you can get the right regulator for $36 or so if you are comfortable changing yourself.
Thank you for the info...im gonna contact the place I got it from...and tell them that...that same connector my alternator had and they replace it when I took it to them in gonna mention the other issue and have them fix it...right now I threw in my old one but haven't turn on the truck since I have my t case down.

Took out the old CB set up and installed an Xgrip style universal mount with built in USB charger

You may not like that X grip after your first trail ride. I had 2 and my phone and small tablet kept bouncing out of them every other bump.

Strange, I have one on my KLR (talk about a rough riding bike) and have never had a problem with it!

There is a neat silicone unit that they include with it that goes over the edges and "locks" it into place... I don't foresee the phone coming out with that on, but I could see that happening without

I've looked into a good holder for my phone, I have the Note 8 now and before that was a Note 4. The case I used on the Note 4 made it so that my holder didn't have the best grip on it, and as the holder has gotten older it started having a really hard time holding on. My Note 8's case is thinner so it holds onto it better, but I still want something really, really secure, but quick to put it in and take it out without fiddling with some silicone safety belt. Anything I've found either won't work well or costs a pretty penny.

I'd really like the Xgrip if it had an extra set of fingers on the bottom to keep the phone from slipping down, though it still looks like something that'd require two hands. My current holder is one handed (push phone into it and the grips close, then to remove squeeze a couple bits just behind the phone to release the grips and latch them back in place for the next time I put it in).

The other problem I have with my current holder is it's a suction cup to the dash and I've had it fall off a couple times lately due to the heat during the summer. I have a couple of the Bracketron MVM brackets to put in and use with the RAM system, since I also need to get an arm in there for my ICOM IC-706 MKIIG control unit (ham radio).

I may just end up building something myself.

Get a magnetic yosh mount off amazon, slips perfectly into the vents and my phone never falls off even when I'm acting like a rally car through trails

Won’t fit. No room on the pass side for the upper link. However since you are going full custom with the drivetrain, maybe you can make a hole somewhere for it.

Using the alpha intake. Upgraded the fuel injection lines, changed the cam out to better suit a heavier truck, and upgraded the transmission, torque converter, stall converter, etc.

Will see how we did tonight...

Good luck! The alpha tune should fire it up but depending on the cam it may or may not stay running!
