Remote Start YES or NO

Thinking about installing a remote start on the Alpha.
YES do it or NO don't do it

remote starts are an easy way to screw up your electrical most shops that install them are butchers i just took a viper remote start out of my h2 it was nothing but problums and left me stranded several times and had to tow, when i took it out found that the shop that put it in done butcher job on my electrical!

I personally would rather know asap if something goes awry and the engine and hear some "Shut-me-off!" noises.

I think the biggest problem with them is the poor installation jobs. You'll rarely ever find a properly crimped or soldered wire. Works great for a while, then the connections work loose and you have nothing but problems. I like factory remote starts but am not a fan of aftermarket ones.

I've been running an Avital Model 5105 Alarm and remote start for about two years trouble free. The key is a competent install.

The prior owner of my 09 Alpha Off Road had a Code Alarm remote start installed. Have no idea when or by who (in AR where they lived), but it is a single wire trigger that works perfect all the time..... well all the time when I test it since I hardly ever use it. Best thing is it will unlock/lock from about 3 times the distance of the factory fobs. I drive a beater in winter so the Alpha sits on the driveway plugged into a Battery Tender Plus till the roads clear. Got no rust now, I don't plan on screwing that up with road salt.

personaly i'd avoid remote starters ,remember when they were all the rage there were a lot raging fires .imagine the tech has gotten better since then

when you start it cold thats when you'll know if there are any possible things that have potential to mess up your day
