I have totally lost faith in Gm and I am strongly considering getting rid of my hummer. I would like to see if there is any interest here first before I try to trade it in.

2009 H3 adventure
43000 miles
Roof rack
Front and rear replacement bumpers
Dual gas can carriers by spare
Steel wheels with 33" mickeys
Monsoon stereo with 6 disc

I have a lot of pics on my profile here

Let me know what you think

Hope not but understand if you do. GM customer service isn't the best and they don't seem to give a **** about Hummer owners although in your case they seem to be stepping up. Too bad they put up such a fight before stepping up to their obligation. Sure leaves a bad taste doesn't it?

I have started the HUMMER Rescue Foundation No Kill Refuge for all who have decided to abandon their HUMMERS I will fly to your town and drive your rig back to my rescue refuge ranch where your rig will be placed for adoption or live out the rest of its life roaming the Arizona countryside. Just let me know when you are ready to let it go.

I get your issue - I have my H3 because GM totally f***** me with a 2006 GTO; but honestly, I get a great deal of fun publishing GM's IP on the web and looking for ways to hack their vehicle computers....

and here's the other rub, all other manufactures are the same.... so beside loosing 10,000 in swapping your rig for something else; the only thing that will change is the phone number you call for cusstomer service.

and another thing - Whitacre is gone; eventually all of his cusstomer service reps will be gone too

GM customer assistance is and has been contract firms; they are not GM employees. Only a few actual GM employees work at their sites. My old boss from TN is in charge of the main customer assistance program. Similar to field service engineering. That was taken over by HP, after HP purchased EDS back around 2007-2008. I know a lot of GM field service engineers that were sucked up into HP when the turnover occurred.

yes, but GM's RMs (regional managers) are still paid by GM.... and they, along with Lee Johnson Chevrolet on 124th in Kirkland, really did an awesome job of screwing me.

it's okay, I post their IP, and provide free advertising for them.... my goal is 1 million in lost sales. I'm at about $250,000 (granted, two of those were ZL1 Corvettes...)

I wonder was was so bad about GM that swayed your decision to sell H3?
I had to deal with Hummer warranty service and surprisingly got an excellent service.

after getting smacked in the face by my hummer i was all ready to sell it and just get something else. but the day i got it back i am came home gave her a bath and just sat on the porch looking at her and just fell back in love with her! wait till you get her back from the dealer and take her home wash her up, and just look at the car for a little bit, just think of all the fun times you have had with the car, all the mods you have done and planned to do.

I have sold more than my share of vehicles that I later regretted selling. Some immediately, some it took awhile to realize my mistake.

I would keep it. I understand your feelings. I'm a mechanically inclined person and just accepted the fact that I would have to do all of my own repairs and maintenance regardless of any warranty. The nearest GM dealer I would even let touch my truck(s) is 90 miles away.

I bought my H3T in 2009 brand new. Great service from the dealer (90 miles away). I bought a 2008 H3 Alpha in Jan. 2012. Traded it for a 2004 H2 in Dec. 2012. Got all nervous about fuel economy, lack of parts, parts costs, service cost, age of the vehicle, etc and traded it in on a brand new 2013 Scion tC in May. Thought life would be great. Good MPG, warranty, free service for 2 years. Worse mistake I ever made in my life. I hated that car more every day I drove it. Plus, the dealer ended up being worthless (toyota/scion of Scranton, PA if you are curious). Took a bath on it and traded it in on (or more like against) a 2014 Jeep (! a JEEP!) Grand Cherokee Overland for the wife 2 weeks ago. I shopped around and the Jeep place actually gave me a very fair value for the car. I could've burned $6,000, kept the H2, and still would have been ahead.

I just got a Base, Base, Base model '07 H3 Saturday. I actually enjoy driving it more than I did the Alpha. The 3.7 with a 5-speed is so much nicer than the auto.

Get familiar with the issues the H3 has. Either accept them and keep the H3 or if you can't get over them - buy something else. Think long and hard about it. If you make the decision in anger, you will regret it.

I'm keeping the two I have now for a long time. I'll be building molds/dies and casting/stamping parts for the H3 someday if I have to. The '07 is going to be my toy. I'll be doing some heavy mods to it soon. It's my fourth HUMMER and I've loved them all.

I'm starting the Eastern Division of the HUMMER Rescue Foundation No Kill Refuge. Any unwanted HUMMER's may be dropped off 24/7 without question. I will even come to pick them up.

If you think GM is bad, try dealing with Jeep on warranty issues. If Jeep finds any "mud" or a scratch caused by road debris on your Jeep they'll try to void your warranty by saying you abused it off road. I didn't believe it until I had issues with my first 05 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, my cat's failed at 36K, and I live down a dirt road. After I dropped it off for the 8/80 emissions warranty I got a call about 4hr later saying they can replace the cat's but that I'd have to pay $1,300.00 plus labor since it appeared I abused it off road in the mud since the lower down pipe was coated with "mud". I immediately left work and headed down to the dealership to start my battle. The Jeep dealership had my Jeep almost a month before I got the issue resolved for free and covered under warranty! After that Jeep left a very foul taste in my mouth vs Land Rover which actually was proud if you brought one of their Rover's in covered in mud!

I've owned a lot of vehicle brands and by far Land Rover was #1 by fully standing behind their product and warranty. Nissan was just as bad as Jeep, and I have since bought 3 vehicles used without any warranty of any kind and I'll just fix what goes wrong myself. I will rarely take a vehicle into a shop unless it's something I absolutely can't handle by myself which is rare.

I bought my H3 Alpha basically sight unseen and I drove up with my F150 FX4 and traded keys for keys after a quick test drive. It has no warranty at all and 109K on the clock when I got the keys. I had a CEL come on during the ride home, which was caused by a dirty throttle body, and I then had clogged sunroof drains. The previous owner (4 in all) was a woman and I guess a random CEL, leaking sunroof due to clogged drains was just to much for her. Her loss was my awesome gain! I got an Alpha with an ARB Bumper, Warn Winch, new 33 BFG AT's, new rotors/pads, and in great shape minus a few scratches for a dead even swap for my truck.

No vehicle is perfect, but from my experience GM has stood behind their products better than others. I still own 2 Jeeps, but their warranties are up. I honestly will never buy another Jeep. Way to much hassle for something that was designed and built to go off road, but if you scratch it or get it muddy you could void your warranty.....

So...just out of curiosity after everyone's thoughts about me possibly getting rid of my H3, and interested people in purchasing it? Cuz this decision is not made out of anger or hast. I don't ever make decisions I later regret. Me and my wife have thought this through and the decision is final as long as the numbers work out.

Wish I could say I never made decisions that I regretted but I am not that good. Steve you have to do what you think is right for you. Hate to see you let go of the H3 but if you do I look forward to wheeling with you in your Jeep.

The big difference in warranty issues between Hummer and Jeep is....

I don't need a warranty for a Jeep. I can flip open a magazine and order any part I would ever need. Parts are cheap and produced in mass quantities...most of which can be bolted-on by the DIY guy in the driveway. Conversely...the parts options for the Hummer are just not there. If you want something...you gotta fab it yourself or (gulp)...take it back to dealer.

The cool thing is you get a unique vehicle when you do custom stuff to an H3 and I value being different. A Jk on 40s with a V8 and one ton axles is not unique, tons of people have that setup and anything less then that USUALLY isn't either. There are of course exceptions like some moderately built jeeps with crazy one off mods.

At this point CJ can probably hang with or out wheel the typical jeep on 37s.

If I get rid of my hummer, it will be for a ford raptor and trust me, it will be different, just like my hummer is different then most. I do all my own fab work and my vehicles always have to be different then everyone elses
