Only watched one video. The guy was kind of a dick so I don't blame the LEO for putting him through the grinder. I have been through a lot of the Border Patrol stations and have always been well treated by polite officers. If there is one LE Agency under stress from lack of support and awful ROE it would be the Border Patrol guys. Cut them some slack. I know a lot of LEOs from a lot of agencies. All great guys. If you subject them to abuse or BS I am sure any of them can get irate but they don't start off that way.
The members of this forum lean heavily in defense of LE and military personnel. You won't find much sympathy for these types of videos here.

I have never been treated poorly by an officer, mainly because I show respect and comply with their requests. No good ever comes out of challenging an officer at the scene. Yes, there are bad seeds everywhere, but that also includes citizens that make videos such as these.

Society has created this problem. I don't deny that police brutality is a real thing, sure it is, but put yourself in the shoes of a LEO. Your in a trusted position of authority and there is no respect at all for what these guys do on a daily basis and its way to easy to cry fowl and get attention from both the news media and social media to publicize a one sided story. In addition, the media is far to quick to bring judgement without due process. Who would want to be a LEO in todays world? ****ty pay, no respect, life threatening situations. I fear what society will become when there are no brave and honest LEOs left to protect and serve our communities, leaving only the unqualified and corrupt a-holes to remain. Look at these communities where law enforcement has come under scrutiny, crime/murder rates up, etc.. Is that what we really want to look forward to.

A big thank you to all of those who defend my freedoms and rights on a daily basis and a big FU to all criminals, thugs, hooligans and any other organization or individual too stupid and self serving to do the same.

Having been on the receiving end of a ****ty cop (and being family with another), I completely agree abuse of power and overstepping boundaries is a problem. That said, most of it's a problem with laws and courts. If we didn't have so many grey area and judgement laws that could be abused, things would be better. Brutality is on its way out with personal recorders. Personally, I operate on a 10/80/10 rule. 10% are ****ups and *******s, 80% generally mean well but are human and let situations or ego get the best of them sometimes, and 10% are honest to goodness white knights that do their job right and are willing to call others on problems. I treat them politely, but firmly when they start pushing boundaries. The majority of them understand and act appropriately. Worst case, I see them in court.

I think 75% of LEOs are honest, hard working people and do a good job, treat people fairly. The rest are ego and power mongers. Thank you lord for tiny video cams and youtube so now these A-Hole LEOs have a lot harder time hassling innocent and abusing people. I remember back on the 70s and 80s I was hassled by Police all the time for no reason. One example I had a Fuzzbuster anti-police radar, got stopped for tail light busted. LEO wrote me citation then asked tons of dumb questions about my Fuzzbuster trying to get me angry so he could arrest me. LEO even threatened to take my Fuzzbuster. The bottom line, today Cops have to watch their A*sses and I am so glad this day has come. Thank you youtube! Bravo for the Constitution! Power to the people!

I'm just going to go out on a limb here and say if you had a Fuzzbuster you probably had a speeding problem . If the Fuzzbuster was a radar jammer , you would be violating federal laws by not having an FCC license to operate it . I'm no lawyer , but I have an FCC lic and know that you can't transmit a signal to jam frequencies without an FCC lic . So that being said I think the cop was very nice to you by not taking you to jail .

This is a bit of a humorous comment. A Fuzzbuster was an old style 70s Valentine One. Not a radar jammer of any kind.

I just asked what it was , because I've never heard of an anti police radar . Ok I just looked up valentine one and it a radar detector not an anti radar . I do remember when you could by a radar jammer in kit form only and had to build it yourself because they were illegal to sell. I think all new cars should have a radar detector in them , that way everyone would know where the cops are and people would slow down and no one would get tickets .

Watched most of the first video. Driver was a douche trying to make a statement. Crossing the border is VERY different from some random street inside the US. Also, the cop stated his dog alerted to the trunk of the car. Second video, also a douche with an agenda. His intent was to cause an incident through suspicious behavior outside a military base during a time of elevated threat. If anything, that second video showed unnecessary patience and restraint by the authorities.

I didn't bother watching any of the other ones. I'm quite certain you can find examples of police abuse. I'm also quite certain you can find bad apples in any large enough group of people. I'm sure there are firefighters that steal, teachers that have sex with students, priests that molest children, Hummer drivers that go where they shouldn't and tear up land, etc. etc. etc. Let's not forget, all these people are just that, people.

You brought up getting crap for your radar detector, he is on topic. I agree abuse of power is a problem, particularly in some areas, but slow down. It's like you're on a crusade. This thread is less discussion and more rant.

You can find videos on both sides, more so against LEO. Rule of thumb, comply and respect. Almost all instances are people running, acting strangely and being combative. Know many LEO and the stories they have and what they have to deal with within seconds. You see and hear all the videos and bad stuff because of the media hype. How many times do you see a good one? There are the bad apples, but few and far between
