Noobie question on wheels/tires

I really don't know much about wheels and tires and i'm wondering what you guys would recommend for a 2008 H3 Alpha. Thanks =D

If you are wheelin it 315 (35s) and maybe if your not. Alotta people end up w/ 315s for the look and ride. So you would be savin time and money. Good luck

I currently run 315/75/16 Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC's. They run quite on the road and are great in the mud. Good for everyday usage BUT now that I am turning my Hummer H3 into an off road only truck on a trailer I will be going to Maxxis Trepador M8060 37/12.5/17.

I did a a ton of OCD forum thread mining before pulling the trigger on tires last year. Thanks everyone!

315's are the way to go if wheeling off-road is your prime mission - usually combined with a mild lift.

Tires this size are much bigger @ 35", and heavier, and have aggressive tread. Awesome attributes on the trail.

Everywhere else - driving to work, on the highway, getting into parking garages - they kind of suck. One guy estimated the extra weight, size and aerodynamic hit killed his fuel consumption 30% over 33" (295's). Other drawbacks are cost, road noise, and balloon tire handling on the road.

I wanted the bigger, more aggressive tire look of 33" without the max commitment of the 315's. Shopped for 295, ended up with Goodyear Wrangler 305's (same 33" diameter but wider, ) and probably still got too much tire considering ride quality, noise, and fuel consumption. Looks badass though - so I'm happy with this choice

I'm kinda with Daytona on this one. All depends on what you want to do out of your H3, and how you want it to look.

It is all about what you wanna do with it. I haul a 22' toy hauler with my Alpha. Still have 265's on it now, but planning on some 305 mud grapplers in the spring. Intentionally going 305's instead of 315's or bigger due to the weight I carry. Those 5.3's definitely have the power to spin a set of bigger meats though.
