NEW TX off road parks!

Just giving those in TX a heads-up. There is a new off road park I've just heard about from the Jeep community:

http://www.treesranch4x4.com/index.html (between Kerrville and Junction)

Another park that isn't new, but has expanded hours from it's historical hours as of last year:

http://katemcyrocks.com/ aka "K2" (Mason, TX)

"KATEMCY ROCKS is operated by the Kruse family and Shain Chapman. We offer over 800 acres of granite rock providing an off road experience like no other in the state. Called the 'Moab of Texas,' KATEMCY ROCKS presents diverse terrain for all levels of four wheelers, from stock vehicles to extreme rock crawlers. There are multiple trails with numerous obstacles from easy to extreme."

Neither of these places are as large as Hidden Falls Adventure Park, widely regarded the largest off road park in Texas for wheeling, but they're both supposed to be good spots.

Happy Wheeling!

I have been to the old Katemcy and it was fantastic. I have not been to the new place or Trees ranch. After January I may go to bridgeport for a prerun before Moab but the rest of the time from now to then is going over every nut and bolt on my truck for Moab. After Moab I am up for anything.

Those have been open for a few years now. Trees is a tight, technical park. A good friend I worked with who had a nice Jeep buggy warns that an H3 WILL get scratched and beat up there. You can find bypasses and a few lighter trails but you'll have to miss most of the fun unless they have made some changes over the past 2-3 years. K2 is probably a better Hummer park, but bring your UCP- lots of rocks.

Trees has been around for a while. They are only open a few times a year and do runs as a group (at least they did in the past).
