I believe GM never sold the rights. Last bid was from China S.H.I.T. ( Sichuan Heavy Industries Tengzhong )

I believed GM owns the rights to Hummer. AMC owns the rights to HUMVEE.
But I could be wrong....

I thought the rights were bought from am general for a time period and not indefinite. I could be wrong though.
