For a daily driver I am not sure I would do the lift kit. Some on here will disagree with me on that. I like the Cepek products. I have no experience with the Nitto tires. I have had great experiences with the BFG KM2 and the Goodyear Kevlat MTRs. Opinions on tires will be all over the board.

Please help Me Guys .... Save me some money. Your advice could really help me. My job doesn't allow me much time for research. Also, I want the ride to be as smooth as possible. And I understand staying stock is best for that. - Thanks Again.

Ray, I think you might need to allow more than two minutes for other members to reply. Excessive replies to your own posts are not going to get answers any faster.

If you have the funds: the Rancho lift is how the H3 should have been produced, you won't regret it. Rancho lift plus 35" tires is a great combination, and it drives REALLY nice, WAY nicer than cranked torsion bars on a stock ride. If you have the means, Rancho in the front and a spring-over in the rear is REALLY a great combo, but the spring-over is custom work.

I run with a front torsion lift, rear add a leaf, 33x12.50R17 Mickey Thompson ATZ with steel wheels. Plenty of clearance but it is a stiffer ride with the steel wheels and add a leaf

Being in FL, I would do the Rancho Lift with KM2's, and whatever wheel works with the Kit. Make sure they are aluminum. You'll be the first guy into work after the next hurricane, heck you may even get elected to be the office shuttle service :)

The Rancho Kit is really the only one out there, and you are going to pay for it. Unless you can settle for 2" of lift, then that is "free." You can get extended shackles for the rear for 50 bucks. This will probably bet best for you to get the looks and ride you are looking for.

What would I do?
I would TB crank in front, upgrade to a fox or equivalent higher grade shock, cram 37" tires under the truck, spring over in the rear, a body lift if needed

If you just want a better stance and are not going offroad a lot I would save the money on the lift for now and level with the torsion bars with a set of 35s. Spend the lift money on some ucp and down the road if you end up doing more time off road then drop the money on a lift. Just my .02 being that I do not have a lift. When it comes to rims keep in mind the bigger the rim the more expensive tires are down the road.

Rockstars have been used way to much in my opinion!!! Mud grapplers are phenomenal if u don't mind the road noise.. But if ifs 100% daily driver u might not like them.. There goin to be my next tire cause I dont drive much!!

If you want the lift 4speedfunk has one cheap. Or just crank the bars and get 35s. Use the rest for UCP, sliders, winch and Thor front bumper

Keep in mind that excessive lifting may limit your parking options. I did a t-bar leveling crank, 1" body lift and 35" tires on mine. I am quite please with the drivability in the city. However, the last 1" body lift combined with my roof rack now keeps me from parking it in most indoor parking areas now with my height at 6' 9".

1. What is the height limit in most City Parking Garages?
2. I am driving 95% street but want the option to pull someone out in Beach Sand or Hurricane damages, being able to drive out.
3. Please Advise: Tires / Wheel / Lift Kit and or Shocks?
4. How will these modifications affect Gas Mileage and Wear / Tear?
5. Lifting vehicle seems like I would be safer. higher safer as long as I'm not speeding around tight corners.

WHEELS: Dick Cepek DC-2 or XD Rock Star?

Hi Ray………..Welcome to the forum.

and the all the other 5 forums you posted these questions on..................

Here is my take on it on the subject.

Crank the t-bars, go with the optional front shocks and extended bump stops.

You could then fit up to a 35 in tire, which would be fine on an Alpha.

Wheel diameter should not exceed ½ of the tire diameter.

As in, 16” wheel for a 33” tire, 17” wheel for a 35”, etc.,etc., etc.

The shorter the sidewall, the less flex you have when aired down.

Remember, you are sporting about in a HUMMER….Not a ’63 Impala.

(personally, I do not get this big wheel/little tire thingon 4x4 trucks….silly if you ask me)

As for tire style……Depends on the terrain in which you planto drive.

That is the most important question you need to ask yourself!

Being than you are in Florida, I see a lot of mud and sand in your future.

A nice radial MT would be my choice or one of the more aggressive AT tires.

Have you looked at any of the other rigs in your area? What are they running?

Expect to take a 2+/- MPG hit when you move up to alarger/heavier tire/wheel combo as well.

Good luck in your search and post back up with a pic when you have made your choice.

Just for a reference, here is my truck as it currently sits, leveled on 17X9 ProComps with 33 Swampers.

Note: I went with a 17" wheel to accomodate a 4" Rancho lift which I will prpobably never add......Leveling works fine for me and I cannot cost justify a lift.

Gunner_45: Yes, I've posted on numerous Hummer Forums for maximum feedback. Depending on which Forum gives me the best and honest advice, I will then give back to that specific Forum what it gave me .... and so far this Forum seems to be the most populated and the best people.

I simply want straight no non sense answers to my questions.

Thanks Again.
