Just installed Alpha Therm Heated Wash unit. I also installed the necessary 60/80A relay to prevent constant ON when battery is connected to a charger. It will only work when the engine is running and the battery voltage is 13.0V and up.

I got one of these washer fluid heaters myself a while ago, but just haven't got around to install it (not sure if it's the same brand though) but where did you get the relay from? Or did it come with it? I think mine only came with a large inline fuse set up.

These are the relay i bought.

http://www.amazon.com/TEMCo-Harness...8&qid=1423654844&sr=8-3&keywords=60/80a+relay

When i put my H2 battery on trickle charge, the unit automatically ON because the battery was above 13.0v thus wearing the unit fast and eventually died. Joe from Alpha Therm replaced my defective out of warranty unit for 20 bucks and let me get another one for his cost price. We came back from Boston last sunday, we had blowing snow and freezing rain on the way. This unit really got a good work-out.

wife just called this morning telling me that the unit is awesome...no more ice scrapping the windshield...it's just -25c (-13f for you guys) here at the moment.

This also works good in the summer for bugs that got caught in the windshield and also prolong the life of the wiper blades.

Next is to install seat heaters, got to make the wife comfy here in the great white north.

I ordered one today, had you not posted this I wouldn't have known they existed. My T wiper blades always ice over and it ticks me bad. Hopefully this is the solution. Thanks!

This and my heated seats will make my winters a bit nicer :)
Now to find a heated steering wheel......

Also Jrkilburn , I know they use to sell heated windshield wipers, and if you wanted the high end ones, you could get them with heated arms as well. Honestly I'm going to see if they are still available, because I think I need a pair as well, we have been getting hit by snow every week with many days of water freezing temperatures!

I had planned to use a switched relay, I do not like constant power on accessories as they lend to shortened battery life and/or unexpected dead batteries.
