Ideas on what to do with old spare mount or back door??

True, and it's holding up very well!!! I use it more than I thought I would haha!!!! I was definitely worried about it not holding up too well, due to the fact that I weigh about 240 lbs, but it's holding up, doesn't rattle or shake or do anything like that!

Good to hear! I was 100% against taking my spare off when this thread was started, but would like to be able to open the back door when using my hitch and would put a ladder to use. Am contemplating going this route so thanks for documenting!

No problem bud, I'm glad I did it!!!! I'm always putting **** on the roof since my wife is currently using my truck out of town all the time till June...... And not having a bed sucks but I built the roof rack and having the ladder to access it is great!!!!
