Just wanted to drop by and say Hi! I met some of the members from this site out at Hidden Falls Adventure ranch this past weekend in Marble Falls, Tx. Great meeting everyone. Chris, I wish I had your V8. I will come clean and say I own one of those OLD military vehicle that starts with a "J" Most of mine where junk yard Jeeps and are now Daily drivers or Wheelers. I also have a few military vehicles, a CUCV, 2 Deuces, and airplane tug, and a 1938 Plymouth Staff car. One day I will have that HMMWV. Anyway, just wanted to say it was great meeting all of you.
I was telling a few of them about an event held every year out at Hidden Falls in hopes to see more join us. Texas Has one of the surviving branches of Wheelers for the Wounded. The Texas Branch has incorporated and is a 501c3 non-profit charity run 100% by volunteers. Our main mission is to offer assistance and much need recreation to wounded military personnel. One of the ways we do this by taking them offroad. On May 4th of this year we will be having one of these events. We will bring in buses from all over Texas. Primarily these soldiers come from the Fort Hood Area and BAMC in San Antonio. This event is a great event for these soldiers to learn their "NEW BODY" It also gets them out of the daily routine for some great outdoor recreation. in the past we have had only two hummers at the events. And H3 and H3T. I hope ti see more there this year. In fact, if we had a good showing, we could form you guys into a special group. One thing we need is top on vehicles with AC for burn patients. These patients feel temperature different than we do. To them, it is 15* hotter or more all the time.
Below are few older videos of past events. Please consider making this run. I will have more details up very soon. The weekend, includes wheeling all Day Friday, then we would need just Drivers to volunteer their vehicles and drive the wounded guys and gals around the trails. We need the empty seats in the vehicles for the soldiers and their families. From about noon till 5ish, you will be on the trail. If you would like to bring the family out, GREAT. We have spouses and children who volunteer in other areas and we will have plenty of areas and activities for children. Anyway, I will quit babbling and get to some videos.
