Have you jumped your H3 recently?

Just look at that suspension do work

Now, how do we make these fly a little more level? Is it an issue with suspension setup, or is the jump simply too small?

Watch out that couldve set the airbags open or worse, bent the frame!
Ive seen an H3T here with bent frame rails from a jump, not fun to drive.

Oh yes, I did pull the airbag fuse, I'm not completely irresponsible haha! Also, I got super lucky with the ground being soft and the landing being rather smooth. I believe the launch knock is the suspension going into a full hang, then the landing banging you hear is the D rings being thrown back.

For the record, I DO NOT recommend trying this. It looks like I got away clean this time. Luckily.

You can tell how much frame flex there is by looking at the front bumper moving up and down compared to the body position. Glad it was your H3 and not mine lol

I definitely wouldn't have tried anything like that in a stock configuration...im even unsure if I would attempt this even with sas.

I wouldn't say you were lucky at all. Thats a 2.5 ton truck jumped on half of its stock suspension at an unnatural angle.
Theres a zero percent chance that your frame is not the slightest bit bent. It only takes a couple of millimeters to give you a permanent jiggle at higher speeds.
Its your truck, but generally Hummers are not made for jumping. I'd expect higher bills from your front end in the future.

Shocks, diff bushings, axles, bearings, diff housing, frame, engine, transmission, transfer case, tires, and probably a number of other components took a severe beating with that landing.

It looked cool, but yeah, you're probably going to regret that later. Nothing on these vehicles was made to withstand that kind of abuse. It's a 5,000 pound brick meant for the street and rock crawling, not a pre-runner. :giggle: I did a small jump over a sand dune once, but it was flat at the top and the sand was soft so it had some give, unlike the earth you were on. And I'm pretty sure I didn't go as high as you did.

BTW, to keep it level you need to use a vehicle that doesn't have most of it's weight in the front. If it were 2wd you could just keep accelerating to help turn the nose up, but with 4wd it's not going to do anything trying that I think. Different suspension might help, but it'd have to be custom probably and just not worth it unless you're planning on building a pre-runner.

Haha I feel like I should apologize to you folks, I don't mean to upset anyone :)
People always want to dismiss the H3 as just an expensive slow Colorado, but I don't see hardly any videos of those jumping or crawling.
How about I promise I will treat my ride real nice from here on out.

I'm going to be tearing into the front end in a couple weekends here, my Schwarttzy hidden winch mount just arrived and I have new upper control arms to put in. I will share any bent frame pictures or other fantastic damage that I find.

Do the FOX rear shocks have adjustable damping for each rebound and compression?
I would raise the rebound damping and set the compression damping real low. Then the axle would be slow to drop, and help keep the nose up. This concept at least works on a dirt bike in the whoops.

Not to get too philosophical, but if a frame bends, and I'm too afraid to check it, did it really bend?

Better yet, take your camera and do a slow pan and close up of the whole front end, top to bottom, with the tires off. That way we can all enjoy the carnage.

Not trying to bash on you but sometimes people over estimate how strong their vehicle is.
Even raptors suffer from frame damage when ridden really hard. There is one famous incident were raptors were going on an organized race track and several of them ended up with damaged frame.

As for your H3, take a look at the shock towers, esp the lateral reinforcements for warping or side benda. Also check the frame 10" back from the tower, that area is weaker for the H3 frames (crumple zone). When my truck hit a concrete block barrier that was were the frame damage occured.

Of course not. Things like alignment are overrated, or driveline components in the correct angles are rarely necessary. Shocks do nothing to control wheel movement and properly braking, so blown shocks are no big deal. It's more fun to open and close doors when they stick in their openings. A compromised frame would be excellent in an accident - just think, the weakened frame could fold like an accordian and instead of the trooper remarking how well your H3 withstood the accident, he could be telling the coroner how surprised he is that the H3 didn't withstand the accident. Heck, to avoid tearing diff bushings and motor mounts you might as well remove the rubber from those and go solid mounts, then the engine and diff can act as strengtheners for the frame for bigger, better jumps.

Be sure to continue to post these videos and claims so your insurance company can track all of this while doing their due diligence for any claims that come up.

That was quite a jump but it was really just a large berm, when your rear wheels hit it , it drove the front straight down. If you launched off a longer jump you might have landed better. Keep the videos coming! Someone needs to test the limits of the H3![emoji1548]

I'd rather see the video of someone sliding across the H3 hood. I'd try it but I know i can't jump that high and would just bounce off the fender.
