H3 HELP with power locks

Hi Guys,

I'm new at the forum and I've trying to find if somebody had this problem before but I couldn't find it.

My problem is that the power lock buttons inside don't work. Both doors have the same problem, but they work if you use the remote control. I checked fuses and everything seem to be fine. Is there any specific fuse just for the doors buttons ?

Interesting. Knowing the door lock system, the logical solutions would have either more things working or more things not working.

A couple questions. Is this the OEM keyless remote that works or an aftermarket alarm remote? Do the doors lock when the automatic transmission is put in gear and unlock when placed in neutral or if a manual trans lock when you start driving and unlock when the key is removed?

The first thing I would check would be the plugs on the driver door switch. If you have a DVOM I could have you check some things to narrow it down, but most likely, the driver door switch needs to be replaced

It's the OEM remote that makes everything works. When the transmission is moved from Park doors lock and when you go to Park they all unlock. I checked driver's door connector and looks fine to me. The passenger side doesn't work either. I'll have to try a new switch to see if that solves the problem.

The relays as well as a logic circuit that control the locks are part of the driver side switch. The odd thing is that lock signal from the passenger door switch and the BCM both use the same wire. One would think that if one worked the other would too unless the ground on the passenger switch was bad but probably not the problem since the driver switch doesn't work. The driver side switch can go bad especially if it has gotten wet.

I've currently been having problems with My H3 and had this problem come up this weekend. My problem was alittle different my keyless entry, door locks, and driver side window didn't work even though all the others did. I found on another forum info on this problem. Try pulling the #8 and #68 fuses see if there good and if they are it'll reset the relay when you put them back. If this doesn't work the main plug & cable to the drivers door could be deteriorating due to water seepage exc... Also check your battery cables they could be deteriorating as well. Hope that helps keep us posted.

I checked fuses # 68 and #8 and both were ok. After plugin them back I notice the power locks didn't work not even wit the OEM remote control. Next thing I did was to disconnect both battery terminals and the power windows and lock switch on the drivers side. I wait about 10 minutes and reconnected the switch and the power locks started working again as before (just with remote control).
I already order the switch online and I waiting to arrive to see if that's the problem.

Finnaly got the problem fixed. My H3 had a Remote Starter Python 1400XP installed (I didn't know because previous owner never told me) and it looks like got water inside. There was a short in the logic board of the starter unit and that was causing that the lock switch didn't work.

I installed a new starter and now everything works fine
