I'll be attending a Pathfinder Gathering for a week in Hillsboro, Ohio, September 16th-20th. I've always wanted to check out the Haspin Acres Off-Road Park in Laurel, Indiana and this trip will put me within two hours drive from the park. I plan to leave Iowa on the 14th, hotel overnight, wheel all day on the 15th, camp overnight and then drive to my Gathering on the 16th. I know that we are still a few months out, but I like to plan ahead when possible. Would anyone like to join me at the park on the 15th? Here is the website:

http://www.haspinacres.com/

The fee is $18 (includes camping) with fishing sites available. There will be a Super-Cross race that day for some extra entertainment, but the park has seperate tracks for the races that do not touch normal trails.

I was just there last week for reasons other than wheeling the 3, great camping there! I didn't explore much but from what I saw the trails are tight and unlabeled so if we had a guide it would be huge. I don't know my work schedule yet but if nothing else I would come and camp.. Even though I didn't wheel the hummer haspin still claimed my radiator and forced me to ask help from jeeps out of a mud hole so I am due for some redemption

Haspin is very close to me but, unfortunately I'll be in Michigan that weekend. I will most likely hit Interlake, Redbird, or Badlands sometime between now and then.

BTW...all you Hoosier H3 guys...I still got a Rancho kit for sale if any of you are interested. I mention this because I don't want to ship it. (MkM I'm working in Carmel every day).

Approx. 15k miles on it...100% complete...nothing broke or missing...shocks included...rear springs a tad saggy...$1000. Its sitting a large box on a pallet in my shop. The Rancho requires some offset wheels so, you'll have to do something with that.

If you haven't sold it by September, I would like to stop by and check it out. I can't install the kit until after my next move (next summer), my current garage is too small. The day that I'll be free to come would be September 20th on my way back from the Gathering. Do you have the installation instructions?

Paladine71. Do you do any wheeling around the quad cities? I live out by Camanche and work in Davenport. I would like to meet up with you sometime. Maybe find a place to test my h3. Haven't had it out anywhere yet. I've wheeled several full size trucks, jeeps, and had a samurai on 34's.

We go to Cliff's Insane Terrain in Illinois, and the Badlands in Indiana. Nothing else is close by, mostly private land. If you want to try a run in August, I'd be up for it depending on the dates. My son is graduating Army Basic Training in the 24th, so we'll be in Missouri that weekend, but just about everything else is open at this point except for the first weekend.

Yes it would be nice to take a trip to one of those places and see how I do. I'm considering trying to head out to Utah or somewhere this year. So I need to see how well this does before I take a big trip. You will have to let me know if a few of you are getting together somewhere.

Cliffs is about two hours to the east. It has some fairly tight trails, so you will probably get a few scratches. It ranges from moderate to severe in difficulty, with Carnage Trail being the toughest. I lost a mirror to Carnage last year, but the H3 made it through. Not everyone on that run made it, we drug a Cherokee out and had to trailer it. If you'd want to go, we can pick a date and put out an invite. Maybe, H3nightrod, AlaskaDan, H3DONIST and spongebobnopants would come out.

I would like to go. Been out of the country, for work. So on Monday or Tuesday I will have to see what my travel schedule looks like.
I'm trying to find a set of stock wheels so I can get these other tires mounted. Have a set of thornbirds so it won't have the best mud tires on it.

If Aug 18 would work for the Cliffs I would like to try that. Going to be out of town for a couple weeks again. Hope to have it ready by then.

I may follow you up in Sept too. I hope to get some spare parts for trail repairs before I go to far. What all do you carry? If you do?

I think the 18th will work, I'll start a new thread to check interest.

My usual trail spares: 2 spare tires, half shaft, 16mm inner tie rod, 16mm outer tie rod, serpentine belt, complete change of fluids, and tools. I also bring a Hi-Lift 60" Xtreme, 12,000 winch, air compressor and lift mates.

I got my bumpstops installed last weekend...waiting on rear shocks and my puter. Both should be here by the weekend. PCM4less did a re-flash for the 37"s and 5.13s...anxious to see how that turned out. Might be able to make the Cliffs...what date did you settle on?

P.S. Rancho is gone.

Aug 18. I may be interested in that lift or a front axle then. I would love to check out your axle swap if you can make it.
I'm getting nervous about that date waiting to get a set of rims powder coated and the tires on it. Hard to get this stuff done when I'm on the road as much as I am.

Edit I see the lift is gone. Still have a front axle?

The Gathering has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. Since that was my motivation for the long trip, I will not be coming to Haspin Acres. The trip to Cliffs on the other thread is still on.
