Happy belated bday Craig. And thanks for inviting me to join this forum. A couple weeks ago you dropped a business card on my handle at the local IKEA in Carson.

Thanks for the kind birthday wishes!

I remember your truck quite well! I was in and out real quick so you never got to see my truck parked a few slots away. Maybe we can talk you into doing a run with us one day.

Yeah sure. I just need to start some mods for my truck first.
Thx

We can start you off slow. Hungry Valley is a great place to learn the basics without all the goodies. I wheeled mine pretty hard in a stock configuration.

In 2007, I made it up Wheeler Ridge in Bishop with no mods whatsoever!

Did some playing Hungry Valley

In 2009, I did my first run with a club. I removed my steps partway on the trail and never put them back on!

It wasn't until 2011 that I went wild and did a lot to my truck. I showed up out of the blue with this in Big Bear.

And of course, things got fun after that!

I might be able to squeeze a Hungry Valley run in September if you want to try your hand at some simple stuff. I do not know your skill level but I do know what you truck is capable of taking. You might be surprised!

Don't be nervous. I was a newbies that didn't wanna go until I was built up. Craig and the rest of the crew took me out in near stock form and got me home with no damage. Just listen to the spotter and you will be amazed. They know the limitations of the H3 in stock and modified form

And H2s. Spotting Zach and Anthony over the last few years has gotten me familiar with the wheelbase.

Cool Im down to try I out. I just want to get some bigger wheels. I am planning to get the 20' rockstars right now. But. Need to check what size I need. I'll post elsewhere as I feel I derailed this thread ;)

I am with Chris on this one. If you plan on doing offroading, you will benefit from the smaller wheels. It will give you not only more sidewall to get more traction but will also give you a smoother ride.

I agree with Chris and Craig. If you want to go off road 16" is the best. Also swapping between show wheels and off road wheels is a pain in the @$$ and no value.

In my humble opinion nothing looks better than really capable off road wheels. All show and no go (off road) wheels are just for the pavement pounders.

If you're still not convinced, I have a set of 20" chrome wheels I'll sell you cheep!

I agree with mike...16s are best but if you want bigger rims id compromise with 17-18in rims. I run stock rims and some would cry if they see them. They are beat! I just throw a new coat of Bedliner on every once in a while and call it good. Id save money and paint your stockers they actually look really good
