I will more than likely be able to come out and play, but I can not commit until I see my work schedule for that week. If I do come I will not be staying in the hotel, and it will probably only be for the Saturday.

Looks like Virginia will be there in force.

I recently spent a few days at RC for work (poor me) and got a little more familiar with the trails. If needed, I can lead, or at least help lead, a group on green trails. We did many of the green trails in a stock 4-door tacoma, but there are still plenty of green options to put an H3 through its paces.

I will much prefer the confidence of clearance in my H3 over the spine-shuttering, crossmember-crunching hits we took in the (company) Tacoma. I returned it with a few more scratches and minus 3 mud flaps. "I don't know how it happened, honest." :shifty:

I hope you all have a blast. I've wheeled there a handful of times, and RC is a beautiful place with a lot of challenging terrain (and bypasses for the greenhorns ). Kflips and I had the pleasure of learning the terrain first-hand from a trail guide this time last year.

My advice to those attending: RC is very rocky. Let me reiterate that: RC is VERY rocky. If you don't have UCP...you may want to get it. Not to scare you first-timers, by any means, but you will scrape.....just comes with the territory.

The property is divided into a North and South property. Doing both in one day is not really possible. There is just too much to explore. If you're wheeling two days, I would recommend doing one on each day. The newest addition (I believe that is the "north" property") costs an additional fee, but is a lot of fun. I prefer the new property, personally. Less rocky and more mud, water, and scenery....still a fair amount of rocks though.

Some of the best trails IMO are Power Line, J-1, and 19-B. Quarry is by far the coolest obstacle, however it is relatively difficult...I would say lockers and meaty tires are a must for that obstacle.

You all are going to have a blast! Wish I could make it, but there's not a snowball's chance I can get off of work during peak season. Someone pour a beer out at the Hampton Inn for me.

And be sure to post lots of pics and videos!!

Looking like an impressive turnout for this run! Glad to see members from multiple groups/forums wheeling together.

Rich,

Golden Eagle on this site may attend as well, I met him last November when he was picking up some Thorparts, PM'd him and he may be able to attend. He has a nice H3T.

also, from other sites I think 3 definite and 5 maybes.

I just want to mention that since this event looks like it will have a good number of HUMMER owners there it is also a great chance to avoid shipping costs and find/sell/trade HUMMER parts. If you are looking for something or have something to get rid of please post it up...

I would love to get an UCP but not sure if my budget(and my girl :emb:) will allow it. Well, at least no shipping can get me closer... Does any one have and old, used, bit up, fixeruper UCP that want to get read of for chip, i might get it

How many attendees is this event expected to bring? I was considering requesting my MD based maintenance company to attend in a national guard recruiting status if allowed. Bringing a few capable H1 mechanics and a contact truck HMMWV.

Is it worth the 100 plus mile trip for them to attend? What is the interest to have them there to show what they do? Also to show off what cool stuff they have?

Sadly probably not enough folks there to justify you to ask your unit to attend. I'm sure we'd all like to have them there and it is a great idea, maybe next time if we can build on this event.

In addition to our small-ish group size, there probably won't be many other groups there this time of year. Sounds like a great idea though. Maybe next year during peak season.

Probably a good idea to start formulating a plan... How many of you all want to hit a few blue trails? How many want to get their feet wet on some green trails? How many want a little of both? Anyone want anything harder than blues?

This will help in identifying trail bosses and tail gunners ahead of time. I am willing to lead a group of no more than six on blues on Saturday.

You know I will be running the blues with you! I will have an extra half shaft, steering rack, and 2 16mm tie rods in the truck.

Rod - thanks for leading blues. I'll see what Rich needs on the different runs on lead & tail gunner & go from there.

I've updated the beginning of the thread to try and start a trail roster. I deleted the member names who haven't checked in for a while or who have decided not to attend this run. Also we can update it as we figure out where the guys from the other forum want to fall in, or if anyone has any changes. I will be in the hotel parking lot around 8AM to start getting ready, checking radios, fluids, gear and lunch, we will be leaving the parking lot at 9AM to go get registered aired down and on the trail. If anyone has any questions or concerns PM me and I will give you my number. Thanks, Rich

My plans are a bit changed. I have to be somewhere on Sunday evening and most likely will not be able to stay for the second day. Also, my girl works till late on Friday and there will be no point for me to go there during night and sleep in Hotel for few hours. So, my plans are to leave home early Saturday and I will make sure I will meet you all on the hotel parking lot before 8.

As a trails goes. I'm bone stock, no rear lockers, no underbelly and first time wheeling. So.... You tell me what will be the best for me. How hard are the bluies? I guess if everyone are going on green/blue I'm there also. I just don't even know what a stock H3 can handle...

Arthummer,

Justin and I are rolling from the Alexandria area on Saturday morning just for the day. We will prob leave around 6am. Our plan is to arrive at RC around 900 - 930am after a fuel stop near the hotel the others in the group are stayiing at. If you want to fall in line with us, PM me your real name and a cell number. If not, no worries. We'll see you there.

^ Yep, feel free to caravan to the park with us. I tend to like the caravaning because if you break down on the way there or home someone will possibly have the part you need, Or at least stay with you until a tow truck comes. Additionally If you are going to run mainly blues I would say you need rock rails, and UCP. I don't run a locker and have been fine for at least now.
