I was hoping I could squeeze this trip in, but it just is not going to happen - I don't know what it is but everytime this run is scheduled I have a conflict. Oh well, theres always next time. Have a great time and take lots of pics!

Breakfast is at The Log Cabin 39976 Big Bear Blvd. It is a red building, you can't miss it

Breakfast sounds good my wife and I will leave from Moreno Valley to try and be there at The Log Cabin at 8 AM.

The truck is packed and the alarm is set. I plan to be at the Discovery Center between 9:00 and 9:30 AM.

Just got to dinner. We only ran Gold Mountain and a couple of us came down Jacoby Canyon. Two tires a t case or possibly a front diff, a tow truck and a partridge in a pear tree. Plus some new marks from the trail. Fun day though. Will get pics up tomorrow

Great day on the trail. Really good to see Seth, Nadia and little Cassidy again. She sure has grown a lot. Rob, Greg, Mike, Zach, Adrian...always good to spend a day with you guys. Bill, sorry your wife had such a rough introduction to wheeling. Hopefully she gives it another chance. The rocks on Gold Mountain have claimed a lot of tires and you aren't the first to lose two tires on a run there. Casey did it a year or so ago. Nice warm up run for Moab.

A transfer case and a maybe a diff? Wow, can't wait to hear these stories. Where did you get the pear tree? And the partridge?

I made it home by 11:30 and could just barely stay awake, so I went straight to bed.

The trouble started when we got into the rock garden and we figured SierraH3 only had rear wheel drive. I think it was the front diff because the front drive shaft was turning but the front axels had no torque. He could only drive in 4 Hi lock and 4 Low lock. Funny thing is it wasn't making any noise. Hope SierraH3 made it home OK.

There were also two flat tires on an H1. The first took awhile to change and the second was a long wait for a tow truck.

We make it back without a hitch in 4 High Lock. Had a fun day and pretty sure that the extended warranty will cover the repair. I read the fine print on my GMPP contract and I have to wait to Monday when they are in their office to start the ball rolling. Technically, it is still "drivable" so I doubt they could cover a rental until it is checked in and scheduled for work. I am putting my money on the differential theory like Chris. I read about similar symptoms on a 4x4 Envoy that needed a new spline gear entering the front differential :sigh:. We really appreciated everyone's help in what was really the toughest spot we have gotten in to so far. The comarderie and recovery capabilities of this group is unrivaled! My wife got some good pics. I will Photobucket'em and link'em in the near future.

There were numerous picture takers so someone should have some good shots. We did all get home pretty late though.

Yea, sorry about that! Thanks for sticking around till the tow truck finally got there. H4O is a great group, but not sure if my wife will four wheel again. It was 99.1 miles, so luckily my AAA should cover it. The driver was great too and offered to drive us back to the 10 & 215 interchange. We just jumped out where we had a ride waiting to drive us back to Moreno Valley and got home around 11:30. Oh and I thought it was more like a Partridge on a power line lol. Thanks again guys, any suggestions on new tires. I was thinking of the ones Laguna H1 got. How about a review of them.

I'm running Cooper Discoverer STT's. So far, I like them a lot. They seem to have great traction in the terrain I wheel, but find myself a bit surprised by how many chunks have been torn out of them already. These are the first MT tires I have ever owned so maybe it's just me not knowing what to expect.
