Online from the same seller off Ebay. He lowered the price after I purchased my first one, and when I ordered the second one I just made an offer of 35.59 vs 40.49 and they accepted it. There is no way you can beat it for that price!!!

Question: is this just a swap for aesthetics, or a cheaper replacement for a bad part? Mine quit controlling temp properly in AZ, so I did the solder in resister mod...

Also, this part is 10% off, $40.59 for 22 more hours.

Both, I thought I messed up my Hummer HVAC and when I got the Saturn's it still didn't work then I finally figured out the fuse was blown which was frustrating but now I have two so if one breaks easy replacement

I found another small difference with the Pontiac/Saturn HVAC Control Unit. On our H3's when the center light is on for recirculate it works fine as it should, on the Pontiac/Saturn HVAC Control Unit it's backwards, to enable recirculate the light must be off. I've confirmed this with both of my H3's running the Pontiac/Saturn HVAC Control Unit.

Thinks OP & everyone in the thread.

These controls are hard to come by now. The cheapest I can find them on ebay are $160 (matte finish H3 part). $310 for the saturn shiny version on ebay, $250 on GMpartsgiant (if that's even a safe site).

Any leads on either part at sub $100 prices that aren't used?

For anyone looking, you can add part# 25925113 for the Pontiac Solstice control unit.

i think the pontiac solstice part has a different resistor or something like that. Best4x4 found that it stared smoking, or something like that. maybe it just got hot. either way, you have to fiddle with the wires to make or work or something. the details are fuzzy.

The pontiac version is setup differently vs our H3's. Recirculate function is backwards which isn't a big deal, but it runs the compressor longer and eventually it freezes over. I thought it was just my alpha with an issue, but my wifes did the samething after I installed the pontiac hvac head unit. I also spent a good amount of $$$ getting the hvac diagnosed until I figured out the cause. You can use the exterior parts but the PCB itself is programmed differently.

Only thing I can think of on the compressor running longer is the pontiac's were soft tops (mostly) so it ran longer to compensate for that. After swapping the boards out with my OEM units all my problems went away on both H3's. Had to do the Hunner fix on my wifes to cycle thru cool/hot properly vs cold then two clicks boiling hot but thats it.
