I have the piaa plasma ion bulbs. They are extremely bright and they are actually brighter then my headlights. They are good because they are amber and cut through fog and harsh weather, and the beam pattern is really good. The pattern is wide, and still has a great distance. I can drive with just my fogs on if I really wanted to. If I remember, Ill post a picture of them and the pattern tonight for you

No they are just a pack of bulbs from piaa. I believe they are h10's. I would have to pull the bulbs to see what exact model they are.

I upgraded my fogs to HID bulbs from http://www.xenonsupply.com/hummer-h3-fog-hid-xenon-kit.html.

They are much brighter than the stock headlights so they really help off road at night. They actually provide better distance than the SilverStar Ultra high beams. For better visibility in fog and rain you want a longer wavelength to reduce scattering. Longer wavelength equates to a lower effective temperature, so I got the 3000K bulbs which produce a greenish yellow light. 2500K would be ideal and more yellow than green, but I couldn't find HID's below 3000K.

I opted for the relay wire harness to assure no wiring issues. The steady state current draw of the HID bulbs is about the same as the stock halogens, but the startup current, which lasts 20 to 30 seconds is much higher, so they could overheat the high gauge wire.

I've had them for about a year and a half... Installing wasn't to bad... I should've also stated that a relay harness is needed sorry.... Only like $10 tho... To do the fogs you just need to remove the grill... If u want I can take pics of how I have it all set up...

You don't have to remove your skid plate, just pull the plastic back and reach up from underneath or the side of the truck

Yeah that sounds like it. I am starting to have a hard time remember what was done with what parts on or off the truck. Seems like I am always fixing or repairing or upgrading more than one thing at a time.
