Hey All,

It may already be common knowledge, but I just found this last week. Smittybuilt has an app in the Apple store for $.99 that tells you what degree incline you are both side to side as well as front to back. It can be calibrated for any dash mount and from what I can tell, works just as well as a physical clinometer. I like it better than having an extra gadget cluttering up my dash. I already have my iPhone mounted to my dash with the Garmin app downloaded so my nav, music, phone and now clinometer are all one device conveniently located where I can see it at all times without taking my eyes off of the road or the trails.

I use an app called Clinovintage, got it years ago on the app store, its a very simple app, not as busy as the smittybilt app, and at least it has an H1 as an option for a vehicle. They have a free, lite version and a $0.99 version. I've used it for years and it does the job. The only complaint I have ever had is the ability to fine tune the max pitch and roll angles. The app uses a slider and does not let you manually input a value, but you can get pretty close.

You can set the 'Warning' and 'Alarm' angle by percentage or degree, front to back and side to side and set it to an audible tone. Obviously you get a warning first when that threshold is met, then an alarm if it is subsequently met. I have yet to use it on a trail, but I like the idea of getting an audible warning while keeping my eyes on the trail and knowing exactly at what angle set off said warning. As far as the vehicle rendered in the app, imagine a Hummer that looks exactly like yours - not rolling.
