I don't know of anyone in the Hummer world using one but I know they are being used in high performance cars.

I've got one on my SRT8 that looks like this:

For those of you that don't know what a catch can does:

Oil Catch Cans collect oil, moisture and blow-by gases that causes carbon and sludge build-up in the engine and intake tract.

Now the reason I'm asking is because when I deleted the hose for my Oil breather that goes into the air intake and replaced it with a stand alone air filter I noticed a bunch of sludge in the hose itself.

Just wondering if anybody out there uses a catch can for their Hummer. Thoughts? Comments?

Nothing? Nobody?

HAs anyone seen sludge in their intakes? Have you had dirty nasty throttle bodies?

Supposedly these keep your throttle body clean because they keep the oil from entering the throttle body from the intake.

I know I've cleaned my throttle body a few times when it was black! I'm thinking about adding one of these to see if it helps with that at all.

Considering my engine dumps oil into the intake during some extreme circumstances I could benefit from something that collected that oil. I've had significant amounts of oil in my intake.

I admittedly know nothing about these and am curious as to your results. However, I know my engine's issues won't be cured by a catch can as it would fill up to capacity on a single off road trail.

That first pic isn't my motor but I think it's a Billet Tech CC. I don't have any current pics of my CC on my photobucket account yet since my car looks like this right now:

I have the Diablo Sport CC for my 6.1. Same one I ordered for my H3.

I've done this to just about any vehicle I have built after 2004. H3 is the only one I haven't yet. One of the pending things to do.

He might just be a forum sales guy. I knew of a couple LX forums he's on signed up as vendor status for 3G.
