After golden spike we decided to take the shortcut from rusty nail to the beginning of gold bar rim.

My brother hit the first obstacle and after that the 2nd JK struggled a tad, it was getting dark and we decided to walk the trail and it only got crazier! So we backed my brother out which was scary because he got off camber and in this pic it only got worse as he got closer to dropping

We snatch blocked him to a tree above to prevent his rear end from sliding...We then took gold bar rim out and got lost only a bunch of times. Everything looks the same at night. Nick got mad that when I was driving I hit something and made him spill his jellybeans. At that point I needed a break and went passenger with someone else. lol

Chris in the red JK said it perfectly, were lost, its dark and we dont know where were going and hes mad about the jellybeans!?! It was a good time though

I would love to hit rusty nail in the morning, when its planned out with Dwaine or someone who has ran the trail before. It seems VERY challenging but do able.

Next day was 7 mile rim and the day after that was flat iron mesa...most of the pics are from flat iron mesa

Then the group split, we continued to on through flat iron mesa

Later we had to stop at milts

we also ran fins n things and moab rim. I have video and pics from my go pro I still have to go through and some more from my phone.

We also hit up potato salad hill. I drove the JK up. First time I had to winch 2nd time I made it. I couldnt crawl the ledge so I bumped it....I was scared ****less because I have seen so many rollovers on youtube.

Your welcome Hunter, its always a blast and worth the trip. That's a great pic. Not only cause, that's my rig, made it my wallpaper. But, its a rare pic of us runnin Hells backwards, my first time leavin that way and felt like a whole new trail. Good luck w/ your new parts and build...

A viscous spring snow storm (2ft. as I write this and more to come) has us shut indoors today so I found time to process and upload a few videos that Kat shot of the "Chute" on Flat Iron Mesa (we really need to get an HD camcorder).

Here's Texas Mike in his JK:

Here's Chris driving Dave's H1:

And me in our H2:

EDIT: Thanks to abearden, all fixed. All I did was copy & paste, I wonder why the URL shows https (secure site) instead of http?

*Anyone know why these Youtube vids aren't embedded?

This is not working:

This is not working:

First one lacked http:// the other two were https:// which the forum didn't seem to like. Gotta have the full URL that starts with http:// .

With the NSA thing, Google made a push to move more of their services to secure connections. I don't think the forum software has been updated to compensate.

These weren't taken by me, but here are the pictures I ended up with from this year's trip:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/90489955@N03/sets/72157652287538905/

Thanks to everyone again for yet another amazing trip! I look forward to seeing everyone again next year or sooner ... If any of y'all find yourselves in Austin, you'd better let me buy you a beer while you're in town and for the Colorado folks, our Austin group may be invading Ouray the first week of September. We'll loop you all in and would love to have any BSHS folks join us!!
