Bad wheel bearing

My drivers side front wheel bearing went out last week. It started grinding on a trip to Dallas and I ended up driving a 200 mile trip back home on it.

I only have 283k on the truck with over 200k with 35s and 20k with an additional 400# of engine. I don't know why this quality timken bearing failed prematurely after only nine years :wtf: /sarc

Funny stuff. I know there have been a couple bearing threads recently, and I thought I would mention that I actually put "Callahan Auto Parts" bearing in my truck last fall. Anyone who is a fan of the movie Tommy Boy will instantly recognize the name Callahan. I half bought them just to see what a $40 bearing (ABS sensor included) actually looked like. I had low expectations, but they had across the board positive reviews. I only have about 10,000 miles on them, but they are still as tight as day one. Not at all claiming these are the best bearings out there, but if you're looking to get by on the cheap, they work.

What a turd, the H3 is the most unreliable piece of junk ever made. ;)
I agree. Time to sell the H3 and get a Toyota Tundra. I hear they never break down and are the ultimate in automotive perfection!
