Anti-theft mode

My truck keeps going in to theft mode the "lock" on the dash keeps blinking and I have to wait ten minutes for in to start

Any idea what causing this? It happens about two three times a month

the key or ignition switch is worn out

Most common is the pass lock sensor in the ignition housing

my colorado does it 4 out of 10 times, I hate it.

Is it any chance that your battery is already worn down, so the drop in voltage could be causing this?

Zach's right on target - common failure point. Search Passlock here and on the Internet, as well as ignition housing. Part's affordable, labor cost is annoying as the dealer has to program it.

Save your money and send in your pcm for a tune and have them disable the passlock feature...
