Here's the installed 305/55R20s...I took the trade-off of much better handling on the road over maxxing the sidewall protection. OD is 33.2 inches.

Hey those look good! I had. Set of those on a zr4 blazer and loved them. They lasted for what seemed like forever!

On road handling, hmmm even though I to run 20s. The difference between 17" rim and 20" rim is only 1.5 of sidewall. With truck size tires your really not going to notice any difference between the two driving a hummer of it was a high speed race car of course but our slow and steady hummers you won't notice much of anything with normal on street driving.

I drove an H3 with 33s and 35s on the OEM 16s for over six years. With those wheels and tires, there was always a disconnected, floating feel on the road that I never liked or got used to. When I first saw that this H3T had 20s, I assumed I'd be putting 33x16s back on. The second I drove the T out of the lot on the 33x20s I was very pleasantly surprised at the big improvement in feel and firmer ride.

That definitely could be just the tire. If you were here I would let you drive our 3 and it basically had 36s and the km2 has a relatively stiff sidewall and it very reactive on the street. Now I can definitely see of it was a tire like a duratrack with a softer sidewall how it could be mushy.

Ok getting confused here. Putting on 35's or 37' on stock 16" rims cause the truck to float? And you should have bigger rims?

So when I replace my 33's to larger ones, I should get larger rims or face a bouncy rid!

No you don't have to get bigger rims. If you don't want a floating feeling which isn't bad going from 33 to a 35 any way but just get a tire with a strong/stiff sidewall. Plus that floating feeling will go away once to get use to it if you do have some. It is definitely NOT necessary to get get bigger rims.

A bigger sidewall will actually give you a softer ride. Don't get bouncy and floating confused two totally different things

It's a matter of preference and driving needs. It's not just the rim size; its the profile and the rim size. Narrower sidewall = less flex, better stability. If it didn't matter, performance cars would still be running tires with 65 profiles instead of 35 and less. (The new 'vette has a 20 profile tire.) If you do a lot of wheeling on rough terrain, wide sidewalls give you better flex to deal with it. I don't need rock crawling-level flex nearly as much as I need firm, predictable handling at highway speed. And the difference is not minor. It's not vertical bouncyness; it's lateral side flex as the wheel and tread react to lateral loads.

Your right the difference is not minor if you're comparing all terains to corvette performance tires. When your compare the Same tire between 33 and 35 on our non performance, low speed almost never see over 80 on a straight line h3 hummer. The difference is minor. Just saying I am talking from experience. Over the last about 16 years I have had trucks ranging from 31x10.5 steel belted radials to 42 bias plys on a daily drivers. If your comparing apples to apples just the difference is 33,35 there is a very minor difference probably almost unnoticeable, now of you go from a 33" street tire to a 35" bias ply mud grip of course there is a huge difference that why when you compare you have to compare the same exact tire just the different size.

Oh sprint cup uses avg a 28x12r15 tire tires slightly staggered between sides but with that size it's a 6.5 side wall. JS;)

We'll have to agree to disagree, 05. For me the difference between a 55 profile on 20s and 75 on 16s is like night and day at highway speeds, where we do 99% of our driving.

For metric sizes, you have to look up the tire specs; BFG spec says that's a 36.2" OD.
