Accelerator Vibration

Did a search, couldn't find anything. I'm noticing a small amount of vibration on my gas pedal. Also, brakes do the same. Just had new brake pads at all four corners. Need new rotors next. Also, steering column vibration at idle which has been there for quite some time. Any suggestions?

Motor mounts are the only thing that comes to mind. Sometimes the tranny mounts can also send vibrations.

X2 on the engine mounts, if not those. Might check the front diff brackets

I vote for the center diff support as one or a combination of possibilities. I know when shifting from D to R when it is shot there will be a clunk. If the rubber has deteriorated and the metal bushing is against the cross member it can transmit all kinds of strange vibrations.

Possibly check the mounting bolts for the pedals???

I would agree with motor mounts, but the steering issue I would check the gear bushing. I had that same vibration in the steering column, had the bushing replaced (under warranty, even though off warranty) and it fixed it. (NOTE: I had 50,500 miles on the factory steering bushing and only one side was actually starting to roll.)

One more follow up to this, will worn brake rotors cause a poor ride quality? It almost feels like I have warped tires, but I know my tires are fine.

IIRC..back in I think the 07 and into 08 models..there was a known issue with the lower steering rod/shaft and it caused the vibrations as you described here..It maybe the same thing f5 is talking about..I don't know..but it maybe in the steering shaft somewhere..your dealer will or should still have records of these issues..

If your rotors are warped (which I highly doubt)..the only time you would know it, is when you hit the brakes..Not while driving..

Wow! Sounded like the Predator with a cold..LOL

So it is while braking only and not driving...do you feel anything in the steering wheel or Brake pedal, while braking?...so it maybe bad rotors or pads or both after all...what is your mileage on these brakes ?

There seems to be some play and a little vibration (uneasiness atleast) in the brake pedal while braking. Also, I have 47,000 miles. Replaced the brake pads about 4 months ago, not rotors yet. Have front rotors sitting on my foyer floor right now, waiting for rears to come in the mail.

I never put new pads on old rotors and never have the old rotors turned either..I always go with a complete change out with everything new...but that's just me..I hate redoing a project...

I imagine depending on the type of Pads you went with..they probably ate up the old rotors

Just a little advice...If your new rotors are not slotted or dimmpled...then take them somewhere you can trust their work..and have these new rotors checked for uneven milling or runout..I found 1 of my brand new 4 rotors was in need of a mild resurfacing to bring it back in to spec. (would have acted just like a warped rotor)..So have yours checked before installing..it will maybe save you a redo..

yes, both front and rear. I had acdelco pads and just bought the acdelco durastop rotors
