Has anyone put 37 12.50 on a h3 with the t bars cranked to 23. I found a good deal on 37x12.50x17 TA KO and I'm trying to see if they will fit before I purchased them. What would the down side be of 37s i have 285 now

Ohhhhh 37's are a little too big on a non lifted h3 i think the best you can do is 35's with a little rubbing but i don't believe 37's will fit

there are a lot of threads on this... short and sweet you need to have a 1inch body to fit them with just a tbar crank. If you have the I5 you will be lucky to use cruise control over 60mph because just doesn't have enough power to keep them rolling also you will be down to 10-12mpg. I can't speak personally for an alpha but i can not imagine it being a whole lot better.. If you don't have a long commute or have another vehicle to travel in then go for it IMO

H3 On 40's ran 37's in stock mode...then he put a 1 inch body lift, to help with the rubbing...and he has the I5. He said he had no much different in handling from the 35's...then he got the Rancho lift and ran 37's until he move to 40's to which then he then add a 2" and later a 3 inch body lift...I talked to him and got a bunch of pics of his truck...he is currently running 40's with the rancho lift and 3 inch body lift with no issues. But he has a tune for the I5. Idk if he got the tune for the 40's or 37's as well...but he sound pretty happy and confident running 37's no problem in the I5 as well 40's. In fact he is so comfortable with how the I5 handles that he is going to move to 41 or 42" can't remember. I am going to 37-8's as soon as my 35's wear down...and get a tune...However I should mention that I have a rancho lift and will be running a 1" body lift alone with it.

Will 37's fit stock lift? Yes, there are pictures of it. Will it rub? Yes. Is gearing too high? Yes, 4th will be just about useless except for flat freeways or down hill.

of course we all have considered it ourselves.

Ok thanks guys I will just stick with what I have, and get 35s when I can, then in the future I will get a Rancho and do a body lift and a tune

Yea I just have the 1" daystar and a procomp keys and I run 35s no problem no rubbing or anything. It does fine on the hwy and around town it's not to much worse than the 33s

One thing I have noticed, is that the 06 has more torque at highway rpm's and seems to pull the taller tires better (300 N/M trq at 2600 rpm vs 3000 for the 3.7l and the curve is fatter between 2-3k rpm). Of course, the later engines make more power above 3000 rpm and accelerate better when they can stretch out and rev.

Edited: the 3.5 is in grey over the 3.7 curves.

Yeah I ran 37s stock. Don't even think your going to turn that bad boy more than 3/4 of the way without rubbing on stock wheels. I have rancho with 16x10s and 37x13.50 full turn no rubbing. Def need a trans cooler if going over 60 on the interstate.

I was wondering what the difference in rpm's would be from 32/33's or 35's in 4th and the 37's in third for the same speed on the hwy?

For an I5, at 65mph in 4th gear:
Stock tires (31.6") 2200 rpm
Real 35" tires - 1990 rpm
Real 37" tires - 1880 rpm

In 3rd gear the 37" would be at 2690 rpm

The Alpha would have lower rpms since the axle ratio is 4.10 as to the I5s 4.56. (At 37s the rpm would be 2400 at 65mph in 3rd)

Did the calc here,

So I have 35' on mine with T bars cranked and I blew out both my axle boots. What it the max you can lift without this happening ?

When you cranked the torsion bars, what's the measurement from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fender? 23 1/2" is usually regarded as the max without doing any damage.
